🚨 #BreakingNews Sierra Leone has become the first country to launch nationwide preventive #Ebola vaccinations, giving 20,000 frontline health workers access to this lifesaver: The campaign comes 10 years after the deadliest Ebola outbreak in history – during which Sierra Leone was among the countries hardest-hit, losing 7% of its health care workforce to the virus. “We commend Sierra Leone and our Alliance partners for their continued commitment to protecting those most at risk, and look forward to the vaccines being rolled out in other at-risk countries” - Gavi CEO Dr Sania Nishtar. Today we held an impactful event in Indonesia, showcasing how innovative private sector partnerships and multisectoral collaborations can advance immunisation and child health outcomes. The event highlighted our eight-year partnership with Unilever #Lifebuoy, which integrates handwashing, nutrition and immunisation through the Keluarga SIGAP programme. This initiative exemplifies how private sector partnerships can drive sustainable impact, tackling challenges like reaching #zerodosechildren and reducing stunting across Indonesia. We also celebrated our collaboration with the The World Bank through the Investing in Nutrition and Early Years (INEY) programme. This approach unites immunisation and nutrition strategies within a results-based framework, offering a scalable model for other middle-income countries to address health inequities. A special thank you to our Board Chair José Manuel Barroso and our CEO Dr Sania Nishtar for their inspiring remarks and to our panelists and moderators who for their valuable insights. #GlobalHealth #Immunisation #Partnerships #Innovation #VaccinesWork #ForOurFuture
