Improvement of the Geometrical Stability of the LHC cryodipoles when Blocking the Central Support Post / Seyvet, Fabien ; Beauquis, Jerome ; Fernandez-Cano, Elena D ; Jeanneret, Jean Bernard ; Poncet, Alain ; Tommasini, Davide
The LHC will be equipped with 1232 horizontally curved 16 meter long super-conducting dipole magnets cooled at 1.9 K, supported within their vacuum vessel by three Glass Fiber Resin Epoxy (GFRE) support posts. The two support posts at the dipole extremities were initially designed free to slide longitudinally with respect to the vacuum vessel and the central support post free to slide transversely. [...]

Thermal Design and Performance of the Electrical Distribution Feed Box of the LHC prototype cell / Calzas-Rodriguez, C ; Capatina, O ; Hauviller, Claude ; Poncet, Alain ; Sacré, P ; Serio, L
The Electrical Distribution Feed Box (DFBS) is a 4.5 K saturated liquid helium cryostat constructed for the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) Prototype Cell (String 2). The thermal design of the DFBS is presented, with emphasis on the modelling of the cooling of the current lead chimneys via the helium bath boil-off gas and on the design of the lambda plate. [...]

The Interconnections of the LHC Cryomagnets / Jacquemod, A ; Poncet, Alain ; Skoczen, Blazej ; Tock, J P
The main components of the LHC, the next world-class facility in high-energy physics, are the twin-aperture high-field superconducting cryomagnets to be installed in the existing 26.7-km long tunnel. After installation and alignment, the cryomagnets have to be interconnected. [...]

The Electrical Distribution Feed Box for the LHC Prototype Cell / Hauviller, Claude ; Ivanov, P M ; Poncet, Alain ; Sacré, P ; Trilhe, P /CERN-Russia Collaboration
The Electrical Distribution Feed Box (DFB) for the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) Prototype Cell (String 2) is a 6 meter-long 4.6 K / 0.135 MPa liquid helium cryostat which supports and cools 13 kA and 600 A High-Temperature Superconductor (HTS) current leads. These are used for powering the String 2 main dipole and quadrupole superconducting magnets, together with their correctors. [...]

Layout and Design of the Auxiliary Bus-Bar Line for the LHC Arc Main Cryostat / Kowalczyk, P ; Poncet, Alain ; Skoczen, Blazej
The superconducting multipole magnets housed in the cold mass of the LHC arc short straight sections, together with the arc dispersion suppressor and matching section quadrupole magnets, will be electrically fed along the 3 km arcs via 600 A and 6 kA superconducting flexible cables. These will be routed into a tube running parallel to the cold masses, placed inside their cryostat [1], from power converters located at each of the 16 arc extremities. [...]
