Collections from JVO Triptych
As a friend of my daughter's says, yesterday I had a little "me" time.
I went shopping and scored a few things that make me happy. One being some Recollections cling mount stamps at Michael's. Oh, I LOVE how tiny they are in this set. PERFECT for mini-collage or whatever.
And so I decided to play.
Here's a mini tutorial for using a few fun things.
Start with cutting 3 of the rounded top houses from Tim's Artful Dwellings set using a thin chipboard. I get 30x30 inch sheets from the art supply section.
I covered the fronts with Antique Tissue Paper-Victorian from Collections. I used Claudine's Multi-Medium and a brush to glue papers. Add Distress Inks as you like.
Then I stamped with the new little set of stamps and Coffee Archival Ink.
This is shown after I'd put it together to show how I added black permanent ink to the seems of the canvas with a pen.
Julie van Oosten, owner of Collections Elements, had sent me some wonderful things awhile back and I'd just not found time to use them. Check out here blog here for wonderful ideas and products.
This paper is from the Vintage Rose 6x6 Collection. Gorgeous papers in such a fun size.
Next add Sticky Back canvas that's been colored with Fired Brick and Vintage Photo Distress Inks to the seems on the BACK of your Triptych.
This shows the last piece before the papers are added. Leave enough between the 3 pieces for it to fold. Die cut your papers, stamp as you like, and glue over canvas hinges.
Flip over and you can decorate to your hearts content. Add ribbon, glass bottles, metal and chipboard ephemera.
Pen dots always added for just a bit more fun!!!
Have a great day. Still working with the new and not as wonderful photo program. Can't find the old one yet, but I'll keep trying.

Packaging, Alcohol Inks and Butterflies and a SALE!!!
At Inspiration Emporium we are working on a theme....Packaging!
The Butterflies are cut from packaging you get from all the wonderful products you buy. Here I used Tim's new Mini Butterflies Movers and Shapers die.
Then I used Alcohol Inks to color the backs...add permanent black pen to the body and Aqua Rhinestones from Kaiser on the front. I LOVE Kaiser's Rhinestones!!!!
It's extremely hard to shoot a good picture in the Midwest gloom recently. No sun today...just rain and more rain. So this is shot under and Ott light trying not to get any glare off the plastic...difficult for me.
The Large Manila tag is sprayed with Perfect Pearls Mists....Turquoise and Perfect Copper. I used the cutout section of the plastic to make a stencil, so the butterflies are shadows on the tag. They do not show up well here...sorry.
You have to have a very light background for the butterflies to show up well, in my opinion.
An old favorite stamp from Nature's Moments is used for the background with Jet Black Archival Ink. You can see the stamps right through the butterflies.
The Alcohol Inks I used on the Alcohol Ink Applicator Tool with Felt were:
Cranberry, Bottle, Sunshine Yellow, and Wild Plum. I started with the yellow first and added layers until I got the look I wanted. Just Play!
I also added this to a black chipboard cutout using Tim's Tag die. A Plaquette over some ribbon and a bow at the top.
The pen marks just add something extra. I'm sorry, I don't know who made the little words stamp...if you do, let me know.
There's $5 shipping to the US and $10 international right now at Inspiration Emporium!!! Take a look and shop. AND because it's Joy's and Jay's mother's birthday...
enter "bigmama" in the coupon code area and get 15% off your entire order until April 30th!!! And don't forget to check out the blog for tips and tutorials!
Have a great EASTER!

Embossed Metal Tape Tag Tutorial
Time for a tutorial. This is the tag I made for SNR a couple of weeks ago. It's based on the piece I created for Ranger's booth at CHA using their new Metal Foil Tape.
It is fantastic to work with!!! And with the Texture Fades and Alcohol Inks....Well, you be the Judge.
Way easy, and Way fun!!!
Here we go!
I start with 3 different dies from Tim. The On the Fence, the Tattered Florals and the new Artful Dwellings.
Here I cut the fence out of thick chipboard and added Picket Fence Crackle Paint. Set aside to dry. Trim to width of tag.
The stamp is Elegant Ledger from Stampington & Company stamped it twice with Jet Black Archival Ink...(couldn't live without that ink)
Add the tape to Grungepaper, die cut with Tattered Florals die, emboss, and add Alcohol Inks as before. Use Distress Inks on the backs.
Curl and pinch the flower petals and layer up with a Rhinestone brad.
Add glossy accents to back of Fragment and glue to vintage picture. Let dry. Cut around edges and add Chain Tassel with a jump ring. (I trimmed mine here a tiny bit)
Add with pop dots to the house.
Use Gold Metallic Paint Dabber to add a light dab of paint to the black Ransom Letters.
Now we're ready to assemble!!!
Glue the house to the tag with peak slightly above the top. Add more white pen dots.
Use pop dots to add the fence and flower. Add the letters down the side.
Tie 2 ribbons to the tag top and you're done!
Hope you enjoyed this project. Let me know what you think, and if you make one, we'll share!

Ranger Alcohol Inks on Metal and UTEE Project
Two different shots. Metal is hard for me to shoot, and both of these aren't very good...
We've had Thunder Snow here and Lightning for several hours. The wind in incredible. Drifts 5' high in back of the house. But so far, no ice!!!!
Be well and stay warm.

Umbrella Man Collage for CHA-Full Peek
This was one of my favorite projects for Tim. I used the new little Bottles. They are so much fun to work with by adding alcohol ink in them, swirling it around, and letting it dry before adding beads or other embellishments.

CHA Projects.....here we go!
This picture reminds me of my Grandmother. She died when I was a baby, and I never got to know her. So all I have are photos to remember her by. Love this gal in the hat.
New Tim Products used here:
Game Pieces - bingo pieces come red, but I painted them black.
Salvage Stickers - Crowded Attic on cardstock-sturdy stuff!
Accoutrement Buttons-Shabby
Pen Nibs - Words engraved on them, cool!
Hanger Clips - Too stinkin' cute.
Chain Tassels - I LOVE these
Crowded Attic Paper Stash
Reinforments
Other current products used:
Distress Inks
Alterations Dies - Tag, On the Edge Ornate.
Paper Stash-Lost and Found, Fragment Charm, and Word Keys.
You think I would have photographed this project in daylight and not on the floor of my studio carpet. But no, I forgot. It was my last minute project, so all I could think about was getting it packed and mailed. So forgive the bad pictures.
I'll be uploading the Ranger Projects as we go along. Oh, did I love working with the new Foil Tape!!!! Maybe it will be next.
Be Well and Create ART!

Townscape Christmas Standup Tag
Here's a fun way to show off your little Christmas tags. I started with the manila tag that I'd Distress Inked with Concord and Sapphire and a bit of Marmalade in the middle. Spray with Perfect Pearls Mist Forever Violet. When dry emboss with snowflakes (these are a Cuttlebug set-don't have Tim's...but they would do, too).
Sand a bit of the snowflakes off and highlight with a white pen. I used a Sharpie Poster Pen as it has a soft tip and a pen will smoosh down the embossing.
Then the little snowman is on Ten Second's Studio Peacock metal. LOVE this color. I embossed it in the Snowman Texture Plate from Tim and after sanding and using the steal brush on him, I cut him out . Simple, heh?
The TownScape is a piece of the metal tape again that I mounted onto heavy manila cardstock before I cut it out on the die. This makes it more stable. Then take a refiner tool, and decorate the houses. Using Alcohol Inks, I painted the little houses and sidewalks using a brush.
The Star is a piece from Maya Road painted and Glittered with Martha's Crystal Fine White glitter. Glue your card to the star and add Texture Paste around the townhouses.
