The Business Community Anti-Poverty Initiative (BCAPI) is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to poverty reduction in Saint John, New Brunswick. Comprising of business and professional leaders, BCAPI is driven by the belief that poverty can be substantially reduced if the community’s leadership focuses on this common goal and works with all sectors to achieve change.

Venture for Canada is a not-for-profit that recruits, trains and supports top recent graduates to work at Canadian startups in need of talent, with the mission of fostering entrepreneurship.Fellows spend two years working at one of our partner startups, where they gain the skills, network and experience necessary to launch their own firms.

Discover Saint John is the Destination Marketing Organization for Saint John. We are a not‑for‑profit, public‑private corporation created in partnership with the City of Saint John and the Saint John Hotel Association. We have over 400 members from the local tourism industry.

Our mission is to increase tourism revenues in Saint John by marketing our unique and competitive tourism experiences to high‑potential markets.

This is a new, unpaid, volunteer position within the Executive Council Office is designed to provide mentorship and leadership to drive innovative practices across government departments, resulting in greater efficiency and economic growth.

Update: Beyond the initial requested voluntary term of 2 years, David continues to volunteer as an EIR assisting various departments through his involvement in multiple initiatives and in various community roles.

This is a new, unpaid, volunteer position within the Executive Council Office is designed to provide mentorship and leadership to drive innovative practices across government departments, resulting in greater efficiency and economic growth.

My role is to work with government to promote the use of digital, social and innovation labs as a way to:
- solve social issues;
- drive economic development;
- provide residents with improved access to services and their data;
- reduce cost of service delivery; and
- improve interdepartmental and community collaboration.

Other duties include developing an Entrepreneur in Residence Program, which will invite entrepreneurs and innovators to work with government departments or focus on specific matters within government. I will also be involved in developing an internship program that will support interns through an entrepreneurial approach. Show less
