Meet three of these remarkable changemakers: Founded by Tracy Persson, My Breast Day Inc. is a mobile app to help women monitor their breast health and includes features for breast self-exam guidance, breast cancer information, financial tracking and journaling. My Breast Day functions as a digital assistant for breast health education and post-diagnosis support, with a focus on serving diverse populations. Tracy Persson is a proud Indigenous entrepreneur and breast cancer survivor who founded the app to promote early detection. The app was recently recognized with the Regional and Rural Innovation Award from ASTech Awards. Founded by Monica Paslawski, Ice Hero is a product designed to thaw frozen water pipes quickly and safely. The company launched earlier this year and is currently conducting prototype testing, with plans to release the product to market this year. Designed for regions with harsh winters, Ice Hero offers an alternative to traditional pipe-thawing methods, focusing on efficiency and pipe safety. Founded by Vincent Pawluski, RCFarmArm (https://rcfarmarm.com/) is transforming agriculture with a patent-pending wireless control system that turns any tractor into a smart machine. Their award-winning technology lets farmers operate tractors remotely, managing everything from engine control to hydraulics. The Grande Prairie Region made headlines worldwide in December when initial plans for the world's largest AI data centre were announced. While plans for the data centre project are in the early stages and would require thorough consultation with local First Nations and environmental regulatory groups, the proposal positions the region as a future leader in the AI industry. Founded in 2021 by Amar Ahluwalia, Jakob Pizzera and Nathan Di Lucca, OneVest is an end-to-end wealth management platform helping financial institutions modernize their processes.
