We are incredibly grateful for the privilege of amplifying the stories of strong, rockstar women in our day-to-day work here at Cube Business Media. To hear first-hand their stories of perseverance, and the unique challenges they've faced on their paths to massive success in industries that are still predominantly male-dominated inspires us everyday. Just a week ago, Judi Hess chaired our TechExit.io conference. As the chair, she shared her story about how she drove Copperleaf's growth to a $1B acquisition, being only 1 of 2 women in history to take a technology company public in the history of the @TSX. At multiple Business Transitions Forum conferences, we have learned so much from serial entrepreneur Kleo Landucci, who started her first business at the age of 8, and has since then owned and operated numerous ventures including leading Ashcroft Terminal through two transitions/transactions (including an equity investment from Canadian Tire) while raising two children. To support working mothers, we dedicated a session at Tech Talent North to Maturn for a workshop to shed light on the impact of maternity leave in Canada, to provide HR leaders effective strategies to create equitable work cultures that help mothers thrive. And we'll never forget Renae Farough, Co-Founder & CEO of Kicker, who presented on the main stage at SAAS NORTH Conference with her 7-month baby bump loud and proud. Her third rodeo on "mat leave" as a #Founder and #mompreneur - which looks like hundreds of meetings while breastfeeding and diaper changes during "breaks". But if we're being honest, it's still incredibly difficult finding these women Founders and CEOs because there are proportionately so few of them in #tech. And for us here at Cube, this is what #IWD is all about. Striving for a world where a woman Founder or CEO isn't so rare. Where women are given equal opportunity AND pay to lead a firm. Where there is no pay gap between men and women, simply because they've had time off to grow their family, deal with menstrual-related sick leave, or stay home because their child was sick. It's why it's so important for these stories to be told on our stages. To inspire women in our communities who are building companies (or simply their careers) to think, "I can do that too". And for that reminder to everyone else who's watching to support these women in their journey of doing so. Happy International Women's Day to all the women in our communities and to those on our team. We're in awe of you and all you've accomplished!
