Project update! Hydrostor’s Development Application for its Silver City Energy Storage Centre has been approved by the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure!   Construction of the 200 MW, 1,600 MWh Silver City project in Broken Hill is set to start later this year, providing vital Long Duration Energy Storage and replacing ageing diesel generators. Hydrostor is pleased to announce that Dr Andrew Barton has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Project Execution, based in Melbourne. Andrew will oversee the execution of the company’s Silver City Energy Storage Project. In this role, he will ensure the project is delivered safely and sustainably, on time, and within budget, while supporting pre-construction strategy, operational readiness, risk management, and health and safety.    Andrew brings over 29 years of experience managing complex energy infrastructure projects across Australia and globally. He has held executive leadership roles at Hatch, Sun Cable, ExxonMobil, and RasGas, where he developed transformative projects like the A$30B+Australia-Asia PowerLink and led the development and delivery of a A$2B+ portfolio of gas production projects in Australia and PNG. His expertise spans renewable energy, offshore gas developments, and onshore plant infrastructure, consistently delivering exceptional results in remote and challenging environments.
