Thinking about financing your home renovation? 🛠️ In today’s Toronto Star, our CEO, Francois Cote, emphasizes the importance of solid budgeting. 💰 He points out that unexpected costs can lead homeowners to rely on additional credit, potentially increasing debt. For value-boosting projects like kitchen or bathroom upgrades, flexible loan options might be beneficial—if you can handle the extra monthly payments. 🏡 But remember, every situation is unique. Assess your financial stability and ensure you can meet payment obligations before taking on more debt. As Francois advises, "If you're currently stretched and don't have a lot of room available in your budget, it probably isn't the right time to invest within the home." For more of his insights, check out the full article.💡 #FinancialWellness #BorrowBetter #FigSpotlight

At Fig, kindness isn’t just a nice-to-have—it’s essential to how we work. 💜 Treating everyone with care and respect is a big part of our culture, and we make sure to keep that top of mind. So, in keeping with Random Acts of Kindness Week, we made it the focus of our latest employee meeting, taking the time to emphasize why kindness at work matters and asking our team to share their thoughts. Senior Product Designer, Qinglan Zheng, put it perfectly: “Kindness in the workplace, to me, means creating a supportive and respectful environment where colleagues genuinely care about each other’s well-being. It’s about offering help when it’s needed, being understanding when someone is struggling, and practicing empathy. Small acts like acknowledging someone's hard work, listening without judgment, or offering encouragement can really build trust.” Credit Risk Business Analyst, Arshia Farzamfar, offered this: “Being kind at work doesn’t cost a thing, but it can make a huge difference—people remember how you treat them, and a little respect and empathy can go a long way in building a long-lasting professional relationship.” And from our Director of People Ops & Business Administration, Tracy Toye: “Kindness at work for me is about simple acts that make a difference in someone’s day—whether it's offering a helping hand, giving a compliment, or just listening when someone needs to talk. It's those small gestures that bring a smile or offer comfort to a colleague, creating a supportive and positive environment.” We also shared some easy ways to be intentional about kindness at work every day. Check out these tips! 👇 🤔What does kindness at work mean to you? #WorkWithKindness #RandomActsofKindness #LifeAtFig

We can’t control the economy—but we can control how we manage our money. Our Chief Revenue Officer, Monisha Sharma, joined AM800 Windsor’s The Shift to break it down. 💡 Start with debt: If you’re carrying credit card debt, focus on paying off the highest interest first. Switching from revolving payments to a fixed personal loan (like ours, starting at 8.99%) can help you save hundreds in interest and give you more predictability. 💡 Build an emergency fund: Even $500 is a good start. Work towards 3–6 months of essential expenses for peace of mind. 💡 Be proactive: Don’t wait for uncertainty to pass—take small steps now. Review your whole portfolio, borrow better, and explore financial tools that could save you money. Canadians are feeling the squeeze, but knowledge is power. 💪 Check out the full conversation for practical ways to stay in control. #FinancialWellness #BorrowBetter #FigSpotlight

What a night! 🎉 Our CEO, Francois Cote, and other team members joined Koru last night to celebrate their 5-year anniversary—and cheer for some big ideas! The night featured an Ecosystem Hackathon, where local startups, tech teams and students tackled real challenges in education in Ontario. Fig was proud to sponsor the third-place prize 🏆 with $2,500 in Uber gift cards. The prize went to Team Magic School Bus: Kiran Singh, Shaumil Poojara, Isaac Tate, Shaharyar Choudhry, and Sumitro Datta who came up with a solution to streamline teacher handovers using AI-generated voice-to-text reports, ensuring smooth transitions and continuity in student learning. Great stuff! 💪 Congrats to all the winners who brought so much energy, enthusiasm and inspiration—and to Koru for hosting this amazing event and reaching this big milestone!  🚀
