Last Friday we took part in what could be described as the “Battle of the Bridge”—a finance football tournament at Stamford Bridge hosted by Bloomsbury Football. It was a fantastic day all round: tough end-to-end matches, plenty of sideline banter, and real camaraderie with teams from across the industry. After powering through the group stages and a couple of nail-biters, we were thrilled to win the trophy! 🏆⚽️ Huge thanks to Bloomsbury for running such a fantastic event—and, more importantly, for the incredible work they do giving kids across London the chance to play, learn and thrive through football. About us
We are a global firm with offices in 8 countries around the world, around 400 employees globally and almost $40 billion in assets under management. What defines our Orbis family is not those numbers, but how we do things day-by-day, how we add value for our clients, and the values that we live and work by. Our investment philosophy is fundamental, long-term and contrarian. As contrarian investors, we aim to take a different perspective and this filters into everything we do. To invest differently, you need to think differently. And this means having teams of people with different backgrounds, experiences and ways of thinking.

Market concentration, high valuations and signs of speculative enthusiasm mean we’re sceptical of returns in certain popular areas of the market. While we don’t see an obvious stockmarket bubble, we think we can find much better opportunities from today’s starting point. 5 reasons inflation may stay higher long term. Having been present for the past 30 years, all five disinflationary forces—deficits, demographics, deglobalisation, decarbonisation, and defence spending—have now stopped and are likely reversing course. https://ow.ly/J4Tt50UojX1 🎥 Watch now to find out as Citywire and Orbis Investments digest views from across the investment community. 🔥 Fired up to share my conversation with Shane Parrish on The Knowledge Project podcast. In this video, I was more vulnerable than ever before, delving into personal experiences that shaped me. Shane helped unpack themes that have fueled me... the importance of having a blueprint (Jay-Z shout out); the 'magic' found in the last 5% (Motorola Solutions shout out) ; and when the bear case is the bull case (Brad Jacobs shout out). Shane's mission is to "master the best of what the world's top performers have already figured out"... which is a compulsion I share. Practice is the game. Much gratitude and respect to Shane for creating such a powerful flywheel of impact with Farnam Street. 💥 #Blueprint #KnowYourGame

Like the backstage crew in a theatre production, the companies that manufacture cables, switches, and transformers are essential but often overlooked. These underappreciated players are the backbone of our critical energy infrastructure, and we believe they could prove to be smart long-term investments.
