YES, services are for everyone. BUT not everyone can reach them easily. Across Europe, people face barriers that slow them down, block access, or make the same path harder to climb. These barriers are not random. They are structural. The EU Anti-Racism Strategy acts to remove them by: 🔸 making sure equality rules are respected 🔸 acting on everyday racism (work, housing, schools, healthcare) 🔸 fighting hate and hate crime 🔸 improving equality data 🔸 supporting civil society and national actions against racism 🔗Read more: https://lnkd.in/e8vbrpKS

Extending Temporary Protection for people fleeing the war in Ukraine Since Russia's invasion, millions of displaced people from Ukraine have found safety and support across the EU. As the war continues and conditions for safe and durable returns are not yet met, European Commission proposes to extend temporary protection until 4 March 2028 (currently in place until 4 March 2027). Almost 4.8 million people displaced from Ukraine are benefiting from temporary protection in the EU. Key elements of the proposal: ➡️ Continuity: people already benefiting from temporary protection keep their status. ➡️ Adapted rules for new arrivals: the proposal introduces a requirement that temporary protection will not be granted to new arrivals who are people legally not allowed to leave Ukraine for defence purposes. ➡️ Looking ahead: work continues on longer-term solutions, including other residence statuses and support for voluntary, sustainable returns when conditions in Ukraine allow, in line with the Council Recommendation of September 2025. You can travel freely across the EU without borders. The hard truth? Criminals can too. Crime is becoming more sophisticated and digital. To tackle serious crime effectively, police, customs, prosecutors and courts need to work closely together from the investigation to the final court judgment. That's where Europol comes in: as the EU's centre for law enforcement cooperation. It helps Member States connect information and expertise - key to investigating cross-border cases. European Commission has proposed strengthening Europol's mandate. Under the new rules, Europol will support Member States with: 💠 More efficient and secure information exchange 💠 Stronger operational support 💠 A technology and innovation hub, providing for the first time an EU-wide picture of capability needs for law enforcement. 💠 Stronger cooperation with EU agencies and bodies, notably with Eurojust and the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO). 💠 Reinforced international cooperation with partner countries to tackle global cross-border crime. 🔗 Find out more: https://lnkd.in/eZeHu8xD #ProtectEU

Your vote. Your community. Your right 🗳️ New EU rules on voting rights for mobile EU citizens in municipal elections have entered into force. EU countries must transpose them into national law by 25 June 2028. Around 14 million EU citizens live in an EU country other than their own. Registering to vote where they live will be easier, thanks to: 🔸Clearer information on how, where and when to vote, in a language that voters can widely understand. 🔸Simpler, more flexible registration procedures. 🔸Stronger anti-discrimination guarantees. Because participation in local democracy does not depend on where in the EU you live.

Criminal networks do not stop at borders. Europe's response cannot stop there either. Today, the European Commission presented the Criminal Justice Package, a set of proposals to strengthen the EU's response to increasingly complex cross-border crime. From organised crime, drug trafficking, cybercrime, human trafficking to terrorism, criminal networks are becoming more international, more digital and more sophisticated. This means Europe needs stronger cooperation to tackle threats that affect communities and make it harder for criminals to exploit gaps between national systems. The package proposes stronger mandates for Europol and Eurojust, harmonisation of the applicable data protection rules, and a revised European Investigation Order. This will bring law enforcement and judicial cooperation closer together across the EU and beyond. It includes measures to: 🔹 Simplify information-sharing rules and improve the gathering of evidence across borders 🔹 Support cross-border cases from the intelligence gathering to trial 🔹 Make cooperation between authorities faster and more effective 🔹 Strengthen cooperation with international partners Because when criminal networks work across borders, Europe must be able to do the same. #ProtectEU #SecurityUnion
