FERMA is pushing for simplified cyber reporting and engaging policymakers on an EU-level backstop for catastrophic cyber risks. ⚡ #Resilience: The Preparedness Union Strategy will strengthen crisis preparedness. On 26 February, the European Commission unveiled its long-awaited #OmnibusSimplificationPackage, introducing key amendments to the #CSRD, #CS3D, and #Taxonomy Regulation.   At FERMA, we welcome this package as a positive signal for companies. Sustainability is not just about compliance: it’s about #attractiveness, #transparency, and long-term #resilience. Many businesses, large and small, will continue strengthening their #sustainability #riskmanagement for these reasons.   Risk Managers play an essential role in identifying and mitigating #sustainability #risks and their #impacts, while also pinpointing and enabling related #opportunities. We support the Commission’s efforts to simplify regulations while maintaining sustainability ambitions.   We welcome: ✅ The confirmation of #doublemateriality assessment as a cornerstone of the CSRD. ✅Reduced regulatory burden for all companies, while keeping voluntary reporting options available for SMEs and small mid-caps. ✅A pragmatic approach to CS3D risk assessment, limiting in-depth due diligence to direct suppliers rather than the entire value chain. ✅Extended compliance timelines—pushing back CS3D and CSRD reporting (for the 2nd and 3rd waves) to 2028, giving businesses more time to adapt and invest, as well as new technologies to be widespread.   FERMA will conduct a deep dive into the Omnibus package and release a more detailed position soon.
