Nature's clock is ticking. Europe’s wildlife and ecosystems are in crisis, two-thirds of protected species and three-quarters of habitats in bad condition. However, protecting nature and biodiversity is key to a sustainable future. That’s why the European Parliament is taking action with the approval of the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030. It aims to address the main drivers of biodiversity loss and set legally binding targets by 2050. On #WorldWildlifeDay we are reminded that biodiversity loss isn’t just about wildlife, it affects human health, food security and climate stability.
