🚀 A milestone for EU cybersecurity policy! 🇪🇺🔒   The first-ever informal Council meeting of EU cybersecurity ministers was organized this week by the Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union. A key outcome? The Warsaw Call—a bold declaration outlining six strategic policy priorities to strengthen Europe’s cybersecurity:   🔹 #CrisisManagement – Accelerating the adoption of the Cybersecurity Blueprint, enhancing coordination, and protecting critical infrastructure like submarine cables. 🔹 #CivilMilitary cooperation – Boosting EU-NATO collaboration and improving #InformationSharing among member states. 🔹 #EmergingTechnologies – Developing a strategic roadmap, enhancing forecasting capabilities, and increasing cybersecurity investments. 🔹 #NIS2 Directive – Ensuring harmonized, innovation-friendly implementation while reducing regulatory burdens and strengthening EU-wide #RiskAssessments. 🔹 Tackling the cybersecurity talent gap across the EU. 🔹 #CyberDiplomacy – Leveraging all available tools to enhance the EU’s cyber posture. 📢 Building a #UnionOfSkills for Europe's future   The European Commission has just released a communication on the Union of Skills, emphasizing the urgent need to strengthen skills in key strategic sectors—including cybersecurity. 🔹 Cybersecurity skills matter! The Commission highlights that basic cybersecurity, digital literacy, and critical thinking are essential for Europe’s resilience, alongside STEM and civic competences. Ensuring risk preparedness in education and training is crucial for safeguarding key societal functions. 🔹 Concrete actions ahead:  ✅ In June 2025, the Industry-Academia network of the Cybersecurity Skills Academy will be launched.  ✅ Cybercampuses will promote cybersecurity skills across Member States and regions.  With the demand for cybersecurity professionals growing rapidly, Belgium must continue investing in education, training, and workforce development. The Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium is committed to strengthening cybersecurity skills and supporting initiatives that prepare individuals for future challenges. ✨ Strengthening cyber resilience for SMEs: Belgium joins the SECURE project! ✨ The Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB) is proud to join the SECURE project, a key initiative enhancing the cybersecurity resilience of SMEs across the EU, especially in light of the new Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). Coordinated by the Italian Agenzia per la Cybersicurezza Nazionale, this project unites partners from Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg, Austria, Poland, Romania, and Spain to help businesses meet cybersecurity requirements. 🔧 Why does this matter? SMEs are vital to our economy but often lack the resources to meet cybersecurity challenges. The CRA introduces new obligations for digital products, ensuring stronger security measures. Through SECURE, we will provide: ✔ Guidance on CRA compliance ✔ Financial support for cybersecurity improvements ✔ Training, workshops, and awareness campaigns ✔ A platform for regulatory insights and best practices 🚀 Our Role in the Project: the CCB is leading efforts to train and upskill SMEs, providing practical compliance guidelines, assessment tools, and workshops to help them navigate CRA requirements. A key focus is on vulnerability management and transparency around security measures. Our contributions will be integrated into an open online platform, making compliance resources easily accessible. 📈 New Tender Alert! A crucial part of CRA implementation is the creation of a Single Reporting Platform (SRP) to streamline cybersecurity notifications across the EU.
