Elite performers constantly engineer their environment to increase the likelihood and opportunity for success 👏 Similarly, startup founders can find that by prioritising their mental and physical health, they can increase the sustainability of their venture and ultimately its success. As part of the Accelerate program experience, this year’s cohort are benefiting from a series of sessions aimed at introducing a high-performance framework from Founder Families’ founder Kay Foss. Aligning with the program’s “Founder’s First” philosophy, each session is designed to provide our teams with the ability to: ✨Connect the dots between a disciplined high-performance approach and sustainable business success. ✨Identify practical skills to make a positive impact on performance. ✨Discover actionable strategies for managing stress, building resilience, and preventing burnout. ✨Normalise conversations about founder wellbeing and mental health. ✨Identify personal and professional resources and how to access them. At Curtin, we believe this approach to our programs results in the building of well rounded, resilient and capable founders leading to better business outcomes. Great to see two of our Curtin-supported startups leading the way at #SXSW2025 🤠! Garnett Hall, founder of VetChip, and Tim Jones, Founder and MD at hyprfire, joined a pertinent discussion on the growing need for domesticating allied supply chains in defense and security with Greenroom Robotics CEO Jim Keane and moderator Marcos Cervantes hosted by Q-Branch at the TexasEmbassy. The panellists explored the challenges of supply chain vulnerabilities, the role of emerging technologies in reshoring production, and how allied nations can enhance resilience against geopolitical risks. The event was a fantastic opportunity for #TeamWA to share their expertise on a global stage 💙 🧡 #curtinentrepreneurs #entrepreneurship Curtin University Media #curtinuniversity #innovation #defense #technology

Supporting programs like the CoRE Learning Foundation's new Pilbara CoRE Academy is just one of the ways we're inspiring young people in the regions to engage in the mining and resources sector. With support from the Curtin-led Resources Technology and Critical Minerals Trailblazer, we are inspiring a new generation of mining talent to acquire innovative skills and education through this exciting new initiative which is now underway at Tom Price Senior High School. We look forward to welcoming these students to Curtin one day in the hope that they will continue their pursuit of careers in the mining industry at one of the world's top universities for mineral & mining engineering!
On Wednesday, we enabled a major milestone for the CoRE Learning Foundation with the launch of their Pilbara CoRE Academy, a game-changing initiative connecting Year 11 & 12 students with real-world pathways into the resources industry. The event took place at Tom Price Senior High School, bringing together students, leaders from industry including Trailblazer partner Rio Tinto, education, government, and the broader Tom Price community to celebrate the launch of this exciting new initiative. Representing the Resources Technology and Critical Minerals Trailblazer and Curtin University was Director of the Young Entrepreneurs Academy of Western Australia Cameron Thorn who noted how the new Academy was paving the way for making 'science more engaging, real and authentic' for students who can now learn from the world around them. Changing the way high school students can engage in the resources sector through programs like the Pilbara CoRE Academy forms one of the crucial deliverables of our Trailblazer and we're delighted so many young minds will now be inspired through this exciting new initiative. Congratulations to Suzy Urbaniak OAM, Christian Price, Jacobi Herringer and the rest of the team at CORE for their dedication to this cause.
