In March 2024, Greyhound Research completed 11 years of operation. These 11 years have been filled with excitement, disappointments, learnings, and, most importantly, truckloads of paranoia (more on that later!). But if there's one thing we have done well, it is to stand true to the values that I believed in on day one. The intent was to deliver independent, unbiased insights using new-age formats, and we have done that reasonably well, if not exceptionally. Building on this belief, I'm ecstatic to share that #ONTrigger, our peer-to-peer exchange series has entered its second season. What started as a mere experiment has grown into an entity in its own right, and I couldn't be happier. 😊 For S2E1 of #ONTrigger, it was a pleasure to host Shanker V Selvadurai of IBM, who spoke to me at length about Client Engineering, IBM's latest and most serious attempt at experiential selling. The lesson to be had, once you read the official Google update, is how having the right #architecture approach and #internal skills helped UniSuper recover quite rapidly with Google’s aid. Imagine the organizations who fully outsource their #cloud #operations #maintenance to a 3rd party with less than a handful of internal people certified in cloud #architects #engineers ? This ties in to the evolution of #systemanalyst #businessanalyst that exist in many organizations. If the direction is cloud then, at a minimum, everyone should be a minimal cloud #associate or #beginner If you can’t tell the difference between a region and zone, or how you can run #serverless applications, then you’re stuck in the past. And if your system breaks then don’t blame the 3rd party partner. Blame yourself because cloud capabilities is baseline knowledge EVERYONE should have in IT regardless of role and not just a handful of individuals. #organization #capability #design

I was fortunate enough to be a part of IDC Round Tables in Sydney and Singapore back in Mar 2024 on the topic of “Building Competitive Differentiation through AI”. IDC Analysts (Linus Lai & Deepika Giri) covered the top AI adoption drivers for 2023-24 and the top driver from what I recollect was “Improving employee productivity” to stay differentiated. We at Informatica have been helping customers to improve employee productivity especially in the world of data management for quite some time reducing manual efforts where possible. In the world of AI, we are helping customers address three key challenges they are facing: ·      Unequal data access across users ·      Distributed data creation leading to declining data quality ·      Overwhelmed data teams due to slow data supply chain issue Anish Agarwal from Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (DRL), Informatica’s strategic customer out of India, shared how they saved 20% effort per data engineer (repurposed their efforts elsewhere for further innovation) across a team of 30 data engineers using the Informatica’s flagship Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) platform. Just on one metric alone, Dr. Anish was able to make it cost neutral in Year 1 for DRL purchasing Informatica software plus implementation costs followed by cost positive in the 2nd year of using IDMC.
