  • Other Projects

    - Present

Catalytic Igniter Development: responsible for the igniter characterization test campaign using a Hydrazine equipped facility.

Solid Propellant Development: conducted tests supporting the development of innovative propellant using the Chimney Burner.

Laser Ignition: conceptual and system design of a laser ignition solution for combustion chambers and upper stage motors.

  • Vinci Engine Development

Vinci Engine is the European Space Agency (ESA) Ariane 5 Cryogenic Upper Stage Motor

Activities: responsible for qualification testing of the igniter and involved in both nozzle characterization tests and cryogenic feed system design.

Main Achievement: the igniter developed in this project has been integrated as a flight component in the Vinci Engine.

  • Deorbiting Motor

    -

During this project we developed a deorbiting motor for space debris removal with NanoSats

Activities: project manager responsible for the team designing, manufacturing and testing the motor igniter.

Main Achievement: the ignition technology developed in this project is protected by a pending patent.

  • MicroNed

    -

During MicroNed we developed a Cold Gas Micropropulsion System for the DelfiN3Xt Satellite and the QB50 Mission

Activities: involved in the design, integration and testing of the Engineering Model through to the Flight Model.

Main Achievement: this is the first cold gas microthruster flying on board a CubeSat in Europe.
