COMPRESSED AIR ENGINE: A SOLUTION TO ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION CAUSED BY FOSSIL FUELS
International Conference on Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Environment

Air pollution due to vehicles is one of the most prominent challenges the word face today. Most vehicles in the world today use engines that burn gasoline, contributing to greenhouse gasses and adding air pollution to the surrounding area. Faster consumption of hydrocarbon fuel in the transport sector is posing global threat of depletion of fossil fuel reserves. Worldwide hydrocarbon fuel consumption in transport sector alone is contributing to about 70% of the total air pollution, and its implications upon the environment and ecology are compelling to search for an environment friendly alternative.
As the world is hard pressed with the energy and fuel crises, compounded by pollution of all kinds, any technology that brings out the solution to this problem is considered as a bounty. In one of such new technologies, is the development of a new engine called as “compressed air engine”, which does not require any of the known fuels like petrol, diesel, CNG, LPG, hydrogen etc. This works using only compressed air. This replaces all types of to date known fuels and also permanently solves the problem of pollution, since its exhaust is clean and cool air, which is measured practically as low as 5°C. -
