  • TAL Health for Life aims to protect our customers' wellbeing at every stage of their health journey. As part of this mission, we have launched a holistic Women’s Health Program – PAUSE, helping women to manage stressors related to health conditions including endometriosis and menopause.   Delivered in collaboration with OnTrack Occupational Therapy, the program offers tailored interventions to help women manage symptoms. Our evidence-based approach is supported by The National Women’s Health Survey, which highlights the need to consider all factors contributing to stressors at midlife to fully support women through the menopause transition.   We are delighted to celebrate this launch on International Women’s Day.🌎💜 This year’s theme #MarchForward, reminds us that progress is not just about reflection but about turning our commitments into action.   #IWD2025 #WomensHealth #Menopause

  • Yesterday at ASFA’s Spotlight on Insurance conference in Sydney, TAL’s Jenny Oliver and Aware Super’s Belinda Nicholson discussed our shared journey to deliver digital-first solutions to Aware Super members. As well as driving business efficiencies, these solutions are improving the member experience by making it easier for Aware Super members to manage their cover and claims online. For instance, when members use our Claims Assist solution, we can make claim decisions 20% faster on average. This means we can pay benefits to members and their loved ones sooner.

  • We fully support CALI's new best practice guidance on family and domestic violence.   This initiative sets new benchmarks for compassionate and effective engagement with victim-survivors, ensuring they receive the respect and support they deserve from across the life insurance industry.   Together, we can ensure Australians feel safe and protected when they need it most.    Find out more about how TAL supports our customers who may be impacted by domestic or family violence here: https://lnkd.in/gQUicPmF

Today, CALI is proud to release our best practice guidance on family and domestic violence, which will help life insurers support victim-survivors when they need it most. Australia’s life insurers understand deeply how critical it is that Australians experiencing family and domestic violence are supported when they interact with their insurer. The guidance sets a new benchmark for compassionate and effective engagement with victim-survivors. The life insurance industry has worked closely with social enterprise Flequity Ventures and the Independent Collective of Survivors (ICOS) to ensure the approach was informed by the lived experiences of victim-survivors. This significant step forward for the industry was acknowledged today at CALI’s head office with government representatives, Minister Stephen Jones and Senator Deborah O'Neill and Catherine Fitzpatrick from Flequity Ventures and other prominent advocates and supporters earlier today. • Last financial year, cancer accounted for 17% of all claims accepted at TAL. With 1 in 2 Australians being diagnosed with skin cancer in their lifetime, it’s one of the biggest threats to watch out for. This World Cancer day, we’re encouraging Aussies to stay vigilant with their sun protection all year round and learn how to spot-check their skin for signs of skin cancer. • I stumbled into studying Occupational Therapy at university, unsure of where it would take me. My initial attraction to the field stemmed from a desire to create a meaningful impact in their lives of others. I’m also a curious person – and this natural desire to explore and understand the world around me has shaped how I approach my work today. In the Health Services team, we focus on empowering customers to lead healthier lives, while working with our partners to help them achieve their objectives. A key challenge in my role is to support the development, design and delivery of data-driven, evidence-based health programs that create a significant impact at scale. A prime example of this is our SpotChecker campaign, which reached over 4.3 million Australians in 2023/24. Centred around the themes of "Be Informed, Check Yourself, and Take Action," these Health Services programs aim to connect with customers at every stage of their health journey. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is undoubtedly the partnerships we cultivate between our internal teams, funds and providers. The sense of camaraderie and shared purpose makes every project feel meaningful, knowing that together, we’re helping more Australians receive the necessary support when they need it most. - Huyen Penny, Health Program Manager
