Rest was recently part of the Australian Retailers Association (ARA) Leaders Forum, where our CEO Vicki Doyle highlighted the importance of financial literacy and superannuation education in creating a thriving workplace. Vicki joined hundreds of retail leaders from across the industry to explore some of the important themes impacting retail teams. This included how empowering employees with financial knowledge can positively affect not only their future, but also the retail industry as a whole. “We have a great opportunity to work together to incorporate financial wellbeing and superannuation initiatives into the workplace,” said Vicki. “This will help support employees and create a workplace that's engaged and prepared for the future. It's about building a stronger industry by investing in the people who work in Retail.” #ARALeadersForum #superannuation #retail

Last week Rest attended the 2025 First Nations Superannuation Summit. The event, hosted by the First Nations Foundation (FNF), focused on creating a fairer super system for First Nations members. The summit was an important opportunity for Rest to join First Nations’ industry leaders, financial counsellors, super funds and government to discuss practical solutions and ways to drive meaningful change. 💚 Rest’s Gemma Kyle spoke about her experience attending a Financial Wellness Week in the Northern Territory and meeting some of our First Nations members. 📋Rest’s Greg Lock was part of the Indigenous Super Working Group with representatives from ASFA | The Voice of Super and Indigenous Consumer Assistance Network Ltd. The group presented a standardised Financial Hardship Withdrawal form to help the super industry simplify this process and improve member experiences. We recognise the role we can play in achieving reconciliation and addressing inequalities that exist for First Nations people, and we work closely with the FNF on this. We’re calling on the Australian Government to implement critical reforms to make the super system work more fairly for all Australians. This includes extending the Superannuation Guarantee to all under-18 workers, including those working less than 30 hours per week. Rest Chief Executive Officer Vicki Doyle says changing this law will financially benefit countless young workers. “We represent over 1 million young members under the age of 30, and we want all young workers to have a fair start with super. “We are calling for the Government to commit to this change in this year’s Budget and include a thorough consultation process and multi-year staged approach to implementation, to consider the impact to employers.” The change is one of 10 recommendations in Rest’s 2025-26 Pre-Budget Submission aimed at creating fairer and more equitable retirement outcomes for members while having a positive impact on the society they will retire into.
