Helping a client adopt cutting-edge technology and make it feel like business-as-usual for them was a career highlight for Senior Engineering Consultant Prasanna Tamhankar. "What is important is not just that it was new technology but it helped save lives, not just their employees, but the community as well," he says. The opportunity to help a vast array of clients from Defence and other industries on diverse projects has been rewarding during his 7+ years with Nova. "Professionally, it gives me an opportunity to work with a wide variety array of clients. "Personally, I love the culture, the people focus." 🎥 Watch to find out more about Life at Nova.

👨💻 From a blank sheet of paper to outperforming human operators - Nova’s AI-powered UAS are redefining what’s possible 👩💻 Our team of Test and Evaluation (T&E) experts are equipping advanced uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) with AI algorithms that they developed in-house. Here's what they did: 💡 Starting with just a blank sheet of paper, a team of Novans created their own AI target classification algorithms. 💡 Next, they embedded this AI into advanced UAS systems. 💡 Then, they repeatedly demonstrated the ability to successfully perform military-like missions (including to Defence officials), proving this AI has a higher success rate than comparable human operators for the same mission. This is the type of highly ambitious and innovative work we're delivering as part of Nova's T&E Centre of Excellence. The team, which includes our junior engineers and is led by T&E Capability Lead Tim Grabert CTEP CSEP FIEAust, was recently recognised in Nova's Directors' Awards. Congrats all! #WeAreNova

🚁 ANNOUNCEMENT: Nova Systems awarded contract to support Navy flight test operations We are proud to be delivering a cutting-edge Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) system to support the Royal Australian Navy’s Aircraft Maintenance and Flight Trials Unit (AMAFTU). The FTI system will enable contemporary flight test activities across Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and Navy and Army rotary wing aircraft. Leveraging our global digital engineering and systems integration expertise, our team will provide both hardware and software solutions tailored to AMAFTU’s mission-critical needs. “AMAFTU's work is vital for maintaining the operational readiness and safety of Navy's aviation assets, contributing significantly to Australia's Defence capabilities,” CEO Dean Rosenfield said. This contract reflects a global collaboration between our Australian, NZ and UK teams, bringing together deep experience in ship-to-aircraft integration and next-gen mission systems rotary wing aircraft. It builds on our track record delivering systems integration across Australia and Europe, including next-gen mission systems for 26 SAR aircraft for the UK, Ireland and Dutch Caribbean coastguards. We’re proud to support the Navy’s future readiness and Australia’s defence capability. #WeAreNova

More than just a scenic stroll...last weekend a group of Novans took part in "Walk for a Veteran" along Adelaide’s beaches. This event raises awareness of challenges facing veterans, as well as funds to help provide physical and mental health support for emergency services and military veterans and their families. It was an ominous forecast, however the rain stayed away for much of the 14km which started and finished at Seacliff Surf Life Saving Club. As Defence industry and as a veteran founded company, it's important to us to support those who’ve serve through initiatives like this. #WeAreNova #WalkForAVeteran

As drone technology continues to evolve, Extended Visual Line of Sight (EVLOS) operations are becoming a critical stepping-stone for safe and scalable deployment of drones and UAS across Australia. EVLOS is especially necessary in Australia, where vast landscapes and remote regions demand extended range capabilities without compromising safety. “Today’s drones are going where no Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) has gone before; from underground mines to fire-prone bushland," Pip Spence, Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Director of Aviation Safety, told the AAUS - Australian Association for Uncrewed Systems RPAS Australian Skies Conference recently. "We’re working to keep up without compromising safety." With CASA already laying the groundwork for future airspace integration that includes drones, EVLOS becomes a necessary capability step enabling autonomous and scalable drone operations. Nova’s EVLOS approval enables us to assure system integration and develop autonomous technologies under operational conditions, while remaining compliant with CASA regulations. Utilising Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) approaches to testing, we add digital capabilities to simulate, monitor and refine systems that include drones as platforms. Advanced Test and Evaluation (T&E) approaches, including LVC, enable parallel, accelerated technology development cycles, to provide confidence to end users. As part of our ever-evolving T&E capabilities, we’ve been using EVLOS operations to facilitate more challenging drone missions to add to our virtual environment. This is building confidence in digital mission engineering and showing the importance it brings to Australia's capability. #WeAreNova #Drones

We're seeing around the world how the use of drones is changing the Defence landscape. Testing them to ensure they are safe and effective is an evolving challenge. That’s where Digital Mission Engineering comes in. It uses virtual environments to test how these systems behave in real-world missions. This helps speed up development, provides an understanding of their capabilities, limitations and effectiveness. As Australia and its #AUKUS partners invest in advanced technologies, smarter testing is key to unlocking its full potential and making sure it’s ready when it counts. 👇 👇 👇 Read more from Tim Grabert CTEP CSEP FIEAust, Test & Evaluation Capability Lead https://lnkd.in/gm9EGh56 #WeAreNova #DefenceIndustry
