Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, world-class robotic surgery is transforming regional healthcare. With improved recovery times for patients, a reduced need for pain medication post-surgery, and a reduction in soft tissue injuries, this advanced technology is changing lives.
An Australian first in robotic surgery! 👏 Mater Private Hospital Townsville orthopaedic surgeon Dr Levi Morse has performed the nation’s first robotic-assisted shoulder replacement surgery, cementing Townsville as the health capital of northern Australia. Mackay’s Kerry Stubbings was the first Australian patient to undergo a robotically assisted shoulder replacement using the Stryker Mako robot, made available through community donations to Mater Foundation. Mater is proud to continue innovating with the latest advances in technology. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gbz3j6Dq
