Simulation of particle breakage in a rock crusher gives more precise data to engineers and designers and helps them better evaluate equipment performance and efficiency. Rocky DEM Particle Simulator’s pre-defined geometry movements and particle breakage model makes this task easier than ever before! The first example shows a Cone Crusher which reduces particle size by squeezing or compressing the feed material between rotating and stationary pieces of conical steel. The crushed material is discharged at the bottom of the machine after it passes through the crushing cavity. Results from Rocky #DEM help to quantify the difference in particle size distribution for each design modification - typically the designer will vary both geometry and/or operational parameters to achieve the best design.
