KomplyAi was recently interviewed for Petroleum Australia's latest March issue in an article titled: "AI Governance in Energy - What Boards Need to Know Now." I was quoted as saying: "Directors, particularly of listed energy companies, should be asking for centralised visibility of higher risk AI systems across their operations, including global JV projects and supply chains, and clear evidence they're meeting new compliance obligations". The piece by KomplyAi examines the unique AI governance challenges facing directors in the oil, gas, and energy sectors. Key highlights include: Why energy sector boards face heightened AI risk exposure due to critical infrastructure status, complex joint ventures, and global operations How new global laws introduce specific legal obligations for directors overseeing energy operations The inadequacy of traditional vendor assessments for evaluating AI-specific risks in energy supply chains and operations Why critical infrastructure protection requires specialised AI governance approaches beyond standard cybersecurity protocols Our insights draw from KomplyAi customer work including with global energy major. If your board is evaluating its AI governance readiness or seeking energy-specific frameworks, let's connect about how KomplyAi's specialised solutions can support your governance requirements. #AIGovernance #EnergySector #BoardLeadership #OilandGas #DirectorLiability Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gRg2kQ-r

  • A message from KomplyAi Founder Kristen Migliorini "When Anthropic's CEO recently described the most powerful AI as "a country of geniuses in a datacenter," it resonated deeply with why I founded KomplyAi. The potential is extraordinary - but so is our responsibility to get it right. 2024 taught me something crucial: organizations don't just want AI governance solutions; they need a partner who deeply understands their sector and how AI challenges are converging on mature, incumbent systems with very human and practical constraints. KomplyAi had a significant year in 2024, from our commercial launch at the AWS Builder Studio to working alongside global energy sector leaders. We've focused on turning complex governance requirements into practical, actionable tech. Looking ahead to 2025, the landscape is evolving rapidly. New mandatory AI regulations are emerging, and organizations need trusted partners more than ever. Our partners are already scaling confidently because they are building trust at every level - from technical teams to the boardroom. To our KomplyAi team, partners, and customers who've been part of this journey – thank you. To our KomplyAi investors who see what we see: as AI capabilities accelerate, organizations need more than just compliance tools - they need clarity, confidence and trust. We're excited to announce some game-changing developments early next year that will transform how enterprises manage AI governance, risk and compliance. Enjoy our "KomplyAi 2024 Year in Review". #AIGovernance #Innovation #AustralianTech #FutureOfTech"

Fantastic evening at The University of Melbourne Alumni Event in Sydney KomplyAi was invited to dive deep into the transformative world of AI and its impact on business. The energy in the room was really great. Particularly during a revealing moment captured in this photo - when I asked how many organisations were firstly aware of and secondly prepared for the Federal Governments recently released "Australian AI Safety Standards" ... or had knowledge of the impact of the seminal EU AI regulations on their Australian businesses. The response reflective of my general observations in market - we've got some work ahead of us as we approach 2025! The discussions were eye-opening, highlighting both the immense opportunities and critical compliance challenges facing Australian businesses. What stood out was the genuine appetite for understanding how to implement AI responsibly while creating value in large enterprise settings. Key takeaways: ✅ 2025 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for AI governance ✅ Workforce AI upskilling is no longer optional - it's critical ✅ Australian businesses are actively preparing for new AI regulations ✅ Cross-border compliance is becoming increasingly important Looking forward to continuing these conversations. A stellar lineup of speakers made this event truly special: Prof Andrew John (Melbourne Business School) Adam Whybrew (BCG) Kitty Lo (Allianz) Danielle Malone (Accenture) Special thanks to Selwyn D'Souza and Melbourne Business School, Visagio for hosting this important discussion. #AI #BusinessInnovation #MelbourneBusinessSchool #Leadership #FutureOfWork #AIRegulation #ResponsibleAI #UniMelb

A powerful morning in Melbourne with Professor Jeannie Marie Paterson University of Melbourne for “Women in AI, the Law, Regulation and Policy”. There was something deeply meaningful about discussing the future of women in AI on the site of the former Royal Women's Hospital. As we shared breakfast and stories under 'Chatham House Rules', it struck me how this place - once where new life began - is helping to shape the next generation of technology leadership. The business case is clear: diverse teams deliver better commercial results. Yet seeing brilliant female lawyers, technologists, and students share their journeys reminded me this isn't just about statistics - it's about unlocking real potential and creating better AI solutions for everyone. What excited me most? The electric energy when law firm partners, tech founders, policy makers and younger law and science students connect. Some of the students attending reminded us of the importance of being visible and present to support their future journeys. These are the conversations that will transform our industry! KomplyAi, we're committed to turning these sorts of events into action with our own role in the AI ecosystem – our expertise and technology. We look forward to supporting the exceptional Jeannie Marie Paterson and her team on initiatives to support women in AI leadership – and upskilling in new AI skill sets. Diverse voices forming part of the AI life cycle creates stronger, more innovative tech solutions. That's a win for everyone.

  • Released Today: ASIC's Report 798 on AI Governance in Financial Services (Australia) What's happening in the market: ·        Growing adoption of AI across financial services ·        Inconsistent governance practices ·        Gaps in AI risk management frameworks ·        Varying levels of board oversight and understanding ASIC's clear message: Existing regulatory frameworks ALREADY apply to AI. This includes obligations to: ·        Operate efficiently, honestly and fairly ·        Maintain adequate risk management systems ·        Ensure sufficient resources and oversight ·        Prevent unconscionable conduct and discrimination ASIC's explicit support for the Australian Voluntary AI Safety Standards as a compliance framework and its work in classifying higher risk AI for the future mandatory guardrails is important to note. After a somewhat wet start to the week, the sun was out in full force as we showcased the six finalists of our #Xccelerate24 program at Commonwealth Bank‘s larger-than-life #SXSWSydney padlock space 🔒 A big thanks to Dragonfly Thinking, KomplyAi, Eidiex 🛡️ and GoFIGR for joining us for a chat, and to our friends at CommBank for coming by to support. But Xccelerate wasn’t all we got up to at SXSW Sydney… We also loaned out our MD Toby Norton-Smith to judge the Innovation and Retail Commerce category at SXSW Sydney Pitch; and our Portfolio Director Laura Faulconer moderated a panel on emerging AI alongside CBA Chief AI Officer Dan Jermyn, Agne Makauskaite from Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Bill Simpson-Young from Gradient Institute. Rounding out the week, umbrella at bay, Yish Koh took to the Discover Stage to speak about Kit’s mission to help build financial literacy in the next generation. Hopefully the forecast is looking bright ☀️ Thanks to SXSW Sydney for drenching us, drying us, hosting us, and (of course) inspiring us. Until the next time!

🌪️ SXSW Sydney: A Whirlwind of Innovation and Debate! 🌟 What a day yesterday at SXSW Sydney for KomplyAi. We first showcased our mission at the Commonwealth Bank x15ventures hub, sparking crucial conversations about responsible AI innovation in banking. Thank you Toby Norton-Smith for the great Q&A: Why did I build KomplyAi? To address the real challenges businesses now face in boldly innovating while ensuring robust AI safeguards. We're providing the essential technology to make this possible, enabling organizations to build, procure and deploy the broadest AI applications that better enhance customer and employee lives. Next off to the SXSW Sydney main "Discovery Stage" heading up the Affirmative Team debate on "Should Australia be a leader in AI?". It was electric! Huge thanks to the National AI Centre Australian Government for the invitation. Alongside brilliant minds like Nicholas Davis, Erika L., Jamie van Leeuwen, David McKeague, and Kate Bower, moderated by Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) veteran, Ange Lavoipierre we explored Australia's AI future. A key observation of market now: those businesses leaning most into AI innovation, (CBA now in the top 5 of the 2024 Evident AI Index), understand the critical importance of safety and customer responsibility. It's not just about leading; it's about leading responsibly. With Government support for AI innovation on full display, SXSW Sydney showcased the newly introduced Australian AI Safety Standards - 10 Guardrails. We've been working behind the scenes on something big (more to come!) in these Standards. #AIInnovation #ResponsibleAI #KomplyAi #SXSWSydney #AustralianTech #CustomerFirst Thanks for the fun Rita Arrigo, always a ball of energy and support for the AI ecosystem. Well done!
