And that's a wrap for Trimester 1 Orientation Week at Griffith University Gold Coast! This iconic event was the perfect start to our 10 events over 10 months celebrating 10 years - recognising our valued Griffith community, students and staff - who play a significant role in our clinical trials. Over two action-packed days, we had the pleasure of meeting enthusiastic students and dedicated staff from a wide range of disciplines, including medicine, nursing, pharmacy, IT, law, architecture, business, and more! A huge thank you to everyone who visited our stand to learn about clinical trial opportunities, we have a diverse range of enrolling trials and we hope to welcome many of you in the Unit soon. The event was also a great opportunity to connect with students and staff to discuss how we can support academic research within Griffith. As a Core Research Facility, we are available to discuss your research needs and we have the facilities and professional staff to support your next project. The Clinical Trial Unit is passionate about advancing medical research to provide better treatment options for the community. We are deeply grateful to our Griffith community for supporting and working with us! #GriffithUniversity #OWeek2025 #ClinicalTrials

BioAsia 2025 was an impressive affair.🎉 2,500 delegates attended this year. The Welcome Ceremony set the scene with global pharma, CROs, High-tech and laboratory giants lining up to announce opening of locations in Telegana to support and utilise the Indian state’s rapid growth in life sciences. The Trade and Investment Queensland delegation had a strong presence and were supported by the Governor of Queensland, Her Excellency Dr Jeannette Young and the Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates MP RN. There were lots of discussions about Indian AI services in healthcare/clinical trials, an interest in translational research collaborations between India and Australia, including with Griffith Health, possibilities for Indian #clinicaltrials in Australia (may be also in Griffith University Clinical Trial Unit😉) and Australian education offerings. A press conference with the delegation was well received with publications in 6 Indian newspapers. The site visit to Indian Immunologicals Limited delivered an amazing insight into the company’s visionary past, a strategic outlook and celebrated existing collaborations with researchers from the Griffith University Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics. One of the panels dived into India’s great need for #clinicaltrials and how to seize the opportunity with speed, but importantly, quality. It was amazing to be part of it all.🎈 Thank you🙏, Trade and Investment Queensland and Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade)!

Thank you BioAsia 2025 for inviting me to participate in the #clinicaltrials panel discussion. Thought provoking discussion. Loved it!
Expanding clinical trials and supporting high-level research is key to improving patient care. Professor Evelin Tiralongo, Director, Clinical Trial Unit, Griffith University, Australia, highlights the challenges in workforce readiness, the need for patient education on clinical trials, and the importance of mapping what works best in clinical research. More trials and better support are essential to advancing healthcare. Shakthi M Nagappan Telangana Lifesciences #BioAsia2025 #CatalystsOfChange #LifeSciencesSummit #GlobalHealthcare

Highlights from Professor Evelin Tiralongo, Day 1 at BioAsia 2025. Griffith University Research at Griffith
Wow! What an impressive and action-packed first day on our Trade and Investment Queensland delegation trip to India, BioAsia 2025. We visited Genome Valley, which houses 250+ R&D and Biopharma manufacturing companies, a large number of multi-tenanted dry and wet laboratories and incubation facilities, and European pharma and life sciences companies. I was impressed by Syngene International Limited values and efficiency, the vision it brings to partnership with academia in biomedical research and the opportunities for clinical trials. I learned that Biological E. Limited can produce 6 Million doses a day exporting vaccines to more than 130 countries, and that nobody looks perfect in protective gear. I very much enjoyed the networking evening organised by Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) with an insightful address by Ros Bates MP RN and interesting talking points around #clinicaltrials, #vaccines, #mRNA with a focus on #IndiaAustraliapartnership. The delicious food was the icing on the cake! Congrats everyone on a first day well done. It is impressive to see how much India has developed since I last visited >25 years ago. The world is your oyster.

Thrilled to be joining the Trade and Investment Queensland delegation to BioAsia 2025 next week to showcase Queensland's comprehensive clinical trial capabilities and explore opportunities for collaboration and growth. Looking forward to representing Griffith University Clinical Trial Unit and Queensland's thriving life sciences sector! Life Sciences Queensland Ltd (LSQ) Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct City of Gold Coast #clinicaltrials
India’s life sciences sector is on a remarkable growth trajectory, projected to reach a market value of USD 300 billion by 2030. This expansion, fueled by strategic government initiatives and a thriving startup ecosystem, is creating new biomedical trade opportunities. 🔬✨ Queensland is poised to play a pivotal role in this evolution. Under the Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (AI-ECTA), reduced tariffs on medical devices give Queensland manufacturers a competitive edge. India's rapidly evolving health sector has meant growing demand for Queensland’s health products, life science innovations and services. The Governor of Queensland, Her Excellency Dr Jeannette Young, hosted a delegation of 10 businesses and research institutions that will travel to BioAsia 2025 in Hyderabad next week to demonstrate the state's strengths in health and biotech. BioAsia 2025 is one of the world's premier life sciences events, bringing together global leaders from industry, research and government to showcase the latest breakthroughs in cutting-edge digital health technologies.
