In healthcare, there’s a persistent data gap that doesn’t just leave women’s health needs overlooked—it undermines both individual health outcomes and economic opportunity. For far too long, medical research has treated male physiology as the default, side-lining the health realities of half the population. This is a moral oversight with real, preventable harm to women, but it’s also a market failure with immense untapped potential. Every missed diagnosis, every delayed treatment, and every unmet health need isn't just a personal cost—it’s a lost economic opportunity. We're talking about 75 million years of healthy life lost annually worldwide, along with billions in costs to healthcare systems, insurers, and workplaces. Yet, there’s an opportunity here: closing this gap could drive health innovations and open new, high-impact market opportunities.
