Last week, our Year 10 Economics and Business students received a visit from Associate Professor Kate Letheren, who teaches at Australian Catholic University and researches the ways people connect with technology. Kate's work is all about understanding how we form relationships with everything from smartphones to AI assistants and robotics. She shared stories from her research journey, including some funny unexpected discoveries about how people name their devices and treat them like friends! Kate's blend of marketing knowledge and psychology helps businesses and governments create technology that works better for real people in everyday situations. Kate’s presentation gave students insight into how consumers make decisions related to these new and emerging technologies and how businesses and governments can influence the decision-making process when encouraging people to adopt these technologies. CLASS OF 2024 | Outstanding Subject Results As we begin to receive Year 12 subject results prior to ATARs tomorrow, we wish to congratulate our exceptional Class of 2024 on their outstanding results. 🎯 100% QCE and QCIA attainment 🎯58 of 68 students are leaving with a certificate I or higher which is 85% 🎯52 of 68 students are leaving with a certificate III or higher which is 77% 🎯16 students have received early offer or will use a qualification to gain entry to tertiary education, which is 24% This success is testament to the determination of our students, coupled with the support of their passionate and nurturing teachers. #EPSHS #ClassOf2024 #QCEresults #Determination #Education #StateEducation #QldEducation #CertificateQualified #Congratulations #CreatingBrightFutures

Earlier this week we welcomed alumni student and QUT academic, Professor Gayle Kerr, to our school. Since graduating high school Gayle has become a leader in advertising and integrated marketing communication research and education. This year we have been collaborating with Queensland University of Technology’s (QUT) School of Advertising, Marketing, and Public Relations to create opportunities for our students. This saw integrated marketing communication expert Dr Edwina Luck visit our Economics and Business classrooms to enrich the learning experience. This collaboration offers students unique opportunities to engage with cutting-edge research and real world applications in various fields. By working closely with QUT, we aim to inspire curiosity, foster innovation, and prepare our students for future academic and career success.
