  • Some of our team had the privilege of attending the 2025 UTS International Women’s Day event and engaging in meaningful conversations on gender equity, leadership and the impactful role women’s sport plays in uniting communities and driving social cohesion. A highlight of the day was hearing from keynote speaker Lydia Williams OLY, alongside a panel of experts who shared their perspectives on inclusion, equality and the lasting impact of leaving a legacy for future generations. As Karissa Fletcher, our Chief Growth Officer explained: “Hearing from Lydia Williams OLY and listening to such thought provoking discussions was a refreshing and meaningful way to celebrate International Women’s Day.” At CulturalPulse, we are committed to authentically engaging with all Australians to ensure all voices are heard, valued, and empowered. Thanks to UTS for hosting a space for these conversations! #IWD2025

  • Our Chief Creative Officer Patrick Skene had the incredible opportunity to MC 🎤 the 4th annual Wang Gungwu Lecture, hosted by the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations (NFACR) 澳中基金会 at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). This event celebrates the deep and lasting contributions of Australia’s diverse Chinese communities to Australian life. 🇦🇺🇨🇳 The evening kicked off with a Welcome to Country by Wurundjeri Elder Annette Xiberras, followed by an address from Minister for Foreign Affairs, Senator Penny Wong. The keynote speaker—none other than the legendary Melissa Wu, a five-time Olympic diver, who shared an inspiring reflection on how her Chinese heritage shaped her diving career and life. With this year’s sports theme, Patrick brought some fascinating insights into the 140-year history of Chinese-Australians in Australian Rules Football, drawing from his book Celestial Footy. “What a great honour to MC an event paying tribute to an international superstar like Melissa Wu,” Patrick said. “Her story of the impact of her Chinese heritage on her career was extraordinary to hear—a story of resilience, excellence and a supportive family.” A special thank you to the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations (NFACR) 澳中基金会 and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC)! 🔗Watch now on ABC iview: https://lnkd.in/gcDX-V-A  ABCTV Broadcast: Saturday 8 March at 12:30pm AEDT (Images by Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade)

Working together to make a difference. This month the Cancer Institute NSW has been privileged to support organisations and networks to connect with their communities around #WorldCancerDay. From walking for awareness, to sharing stories and experiences, to donating blood to support others – five inspiring events took place in February, each making a unique impact. Only by collaborating with dedicated organisations across NSW can we truly make a difference and create a better future. Thank you to everyone who gave their time and energy to connect with people around cancer, including CulturalPulse, Pink Sari Inc, SGL Charitable Organisation Australia, Co.As.It., South Western Sydney Local Health District, and Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD). Most of all, recognising the people impacted by cancer who share their stories and experiences to help others.

  • Did you know that February 21 is International Mother Language Day? It was established by UNESCO in 1999 and officially recognised by the United Nations in 2002. In Australia, more than 300 languages are spoken at home.. and 1 in 3 people speak a language other than English in Sydney and Melbourne! To acknowledge this day, CulturalPulse would like to thank our team of translators and cultural experts who assist us to promote cultural and linguistic diversity and bridge language gaps every day for our clients and partners. Happy International Mother Language Day! 🗣️🌏

Well that was amazing! What an honour to MC the 4th annual Wang Gungwu lecture & pay tribute to legendary 5 x Olympic Diver Melissa Wu. Melissa's speech was one for the ages sharing the impact her Chinese heritage had on her diving career and life, with an enthralled audience. It was a magical evening of positivity and celebration, opened by a wonderful Welcome to Country by Wurundjeri Elder Annette Xiberras, then Minister for Foreign Affairs, the honourable Senator Penny Wong gave a beautiful Welcome address. Which set the stage for the keynote speaker Melissa Wu who shared the highs and lows of her journey and was simply incredible, delivering a masterclass in personal storytelling. What an Australian story! As part of the sport theme, I said a few words and shared some insights on the incredible 140 year rich history of Chinese-Australians playing Australian rules football. And the best thing of all, it will soon be available for all to see: ABC iview and ABC Asia: On demand from Tuesday 25 February from 3.00pm AEDT. ABCTV Broadcast: Saturday 8 March at 12:30pm AEDT. CulturalPulse celebrated Chinese New Year last night at the beautiful 'Blue Room' at the Chinese Garden of Friendship in Darling Harbour / Sydney. 🧧 The event featured an in-depth discussion among panelists exploring the 200-year history of Chinese migration to Australia. The conversation highlighted how a person's family origins and upbringing influence the way they celebrate cultural festivals like Chinese New Year. It also examined how these factors shape their values, experiences, and interactions with communications, products, and brands more broadly. “For Australian businesses looking to engage the Chinese community, it's important to understand the cultural, behavioural and social differences of the community and how these factors impact consumer preferences, needs and  behaviours," said Reg Raghavan CEO CulturalPulse. Thanks to our panellists for sharing their stories: Anna Lao AM - Australian Olympic Badminton champion and owner of the Australian Badminton Academy Heidi H. - eBest Chinese online supermarket  Janey Tham - 2AC Chinese Radio Sydney  Dion Woo - Woocorp Derek L. - Meat & Livestock Australia Terrence Trujillo - Qudos Bank Arena We would also like to acknowledge Cecilia Zhao, John Chen and the Australian Chinese Music School and Stanley Cai for his wonderful hospitality. “On the day of the Lantern Festival and on behalf of the team at CulturalPulse, we wish you a prosperous New Year. Gong Xi Fa Cai and Kung Hey Fat Choy!”.

  • CulturalPulse celebrated World Cancer Day 2025 by uniting the team in the Sydney office over morning tea. This year the theme is ‘United by Unique’ and the global campaign reminds us that everyone's story is unique (especially those impacted by cancer in any way) and that we are all united. Our team learnt that a people centred approach to cancer care, that fully integrates each individuals unique needs with compassion and empathy, leads to the best health outcomes.  CulturalPulse supports the groundbreaking work of the Cancer Institute NSW including the work of Professor Tracey O'Brien, AM and Sheetal Challam. You can find more information and helpful tips relating to these healthy habits by visiting the Cancer Institute’s website at cancer.nsw.gov.au. #WorldCancerDay #UnitedByUnique
