The BASE mRNA Facility builds #mRNA #vaccines and #therapies for Australian researchers. We offer end-to-end services; from initial #design, #manufacture, and #formulation of mRNA. We have a successful track record of making hundreds of mRNA vaccines and therapies for a wide range of #applications. We are a team of passionate #scientists with expertise in mRNA #biology, #vaccine and #drug development, #biomanufacture and #clinical research. The BASE mRNA Facility is a non-profit facility supported by The University of Queensland and Therapeutic Innovation Australia and it is located at Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology AIBN. Our Services: 🔹 mRNA Design 🔹 mRNA Production (100ug to >5mg scale) 🔹 mRNA Formulation We understand that every research project is unique, which is why we offer two distinct options: 1️⃣ #Off-the-shelf #reporter #mRNA - Featuring a diverse selection, including eGFP, luciferase, nanoluc, mCherry, CRISPR Cas9, and ovalbumin, to name a few. 2️⃣ #Custom #mRNA #Production - Tailored to your precise specifications, this encompassing service includes: ✓ Optimization of sequences of interest ✓ Sequence synthesis and cloning into our BASE mRNA vector (which includes T7 promoter, optimised UTRs and polyA) ✓ Template Amplification and Purification for in vitro transcription (IVT) process. ✓ IVT and purification yielding capped or uncapped mRNA, with the option of unmodified or modified nucleotides, such as N1-Methylpseudouridine or Methoxyuridine. ✓ Comprehensive mRNA analysis and detailed reporting. There is more to building an mRNA cancer vaccine than just making one work outside the lab. BASE team is thoroughly enjoying the Advanced in mRNA Sciences in Melbourne. It seems like #mRNA vaccines have finally cracked the challenging Flu B strains, paving the way for widespread adoption. While earlier mRNA flu vaccines were highly effective against A strains their efficacy against B strains fell short. Now reconfigured vaccines from first Moderna and now GSK (partnered with CureVac) have demonstrated non-inferiority to conventional flu vaccines. Given the scalability and rapid manufacture enabling rapid adaptation to seasonal strains, it's not hard to envision mRNA capturing a large section of Flu market in the near future. https://lnkd.in/gpt4ayMC

A-RNA 2024 Day 3! Dr Laura Leighton from BASE’s Research Team presented on the delivery of mRNA therapeutics in liver disease and cancer. Her talk was followed by an engaging QnA session, discussing about in vivo liver cancer model for testing mRNA therapeutics.
