24 legends. Countless conversations sparked. This is what Movember at AP+ looked like this year. 🥸💙🏃 Together, we helped our colleagues feel a little bit safer to raise their hand if they needed some support. We also raised funds to tackle men’s health challenges—including mental health, suicide prevention, and cancer. Through our Giving Plus program, we’re proud to match all employee donations, dollar for dollar. With 15 mo growers and 9 movers—including half of our exec team—this campaign highlighted the power of sparking important conversations at work. The AP+ effort was organised by Declan Read, our Lead Strategic Designer in Payments and Schemes, who shared: “I’ve struggled with my mental health in different ways over the years. Most recently, after my wife’s traumatic birth experience, I found it challenging to raise a baby, support my wife and maintain my job while dealing with postpartum depression and anxiety. I’ve been a MoBro for 8 years, I’ve always wanted to reduce the stigma of mental health by talking about my experiences but I’ve never been able to find the right words or confidence. This year was the first time that I shared my story and it was actually nice. It prompted a lot of my colleagues to have important conversations about this that often go unspoken.” A huge shoutout to Declan and everyone who participated in or supported the cause.
