Hello... I firstly want to say a big thank you to each of you for your kind words of support on my last post, for being there and for being my cheering squad you really know how to make someone feel supported and encouraged.  I feel very grateful to have you stop by and lift my spirits.

My week in photos....
Miss 10 sang in her school choir, happy and proud.
There were dull, grey, rainy days.
Some crochet for my little niece, still in progress.
Cups of peppermint tea to settle the blah feeling in my tummy.
New magazines to sit and peruse.
Special cakes made for a special big daughter.
Family fun to celebrate Miss 15.

Happy 15th birthday today to my first born.
Enjoy being 15 may it bring you all that you strive and wish for and much happiness.
Love Mum.

Have a terrific Tuesday my friends.

217-220/365 'Last Week'

Broccoli ready for the picking. I'm going to use it for this meal on my menu for the week.
Swinging is still a favourite with my girls. I never tire of seeing them enjoy the simple things.
The ever cheeky little willy wag tail.
Finally I have a clean car. I love it when I'm motivated.

How was your week?

Friday, May 23

138-143/365

Well hello...It looks like it's catch up time for me.  This past week has flown by and my poor camera hasn't come out of it's bag sadly.  It's been busy here with hubby working long hours, an oven with a couple of expensive problems that have now been fixed, children driven here and there, school, sick little ones and just life.  I am so glad that today is Friday!  I picked up the camera this afternoon and snapped a few photos to catch up on my 365 project.

I have been busy knitting more of the baby blanket I was working on last week.  I'm now up to the second colour.
My little one had a temp and a bit of a sore throat so I crushed up a little panadol for her and mixed it with some honey.
An early bubble bath to try and help get that temperature down.
Miss Molly got all prettied up the other day.  She didn't get a clip this time because she might soon be going to a show with her clipper for a competition so her coat needs to be long.  She is looking a bit like a fluffy toy at the moment after her wash and blow dry.
The golden afternoon light coming through my bedroom windows.
One of our three new hens, I'm looking forward to a few more eggs being laid soon.
Pretty sunset view.
Look at my garden growing.  This is the bok choy I planted about 3 weeks ago now.  I think it might end up on our menu next week.

Well have a wonderful Saturday my friends.

I think she has more jewellery than I do, so so many earrings given to her as gifts.  I love that she keeps it safe in her music box, something all girls seem to love.
She is always creating something.  She picked these roses on Sunday and made a little bit of art with them on her beside table.
I was looking on my favourite website and saw this and hinted a little about liking it.  And on Sunday morning it was all wrapped up just for me so today I tested it with my favourite blueberry smoothie.  I think it might have tasted even better...

85/365

The other day I got a text from a good friend wondering if I wanted to catch up for a chat, yes please, I didn't have to think twice.  So we worked out a date and we chatted and chatted, I felt great afterwards.  While I was in her area I popped in to my favourite gift shop to pick up a couple of things for some special ladies and brought my camera along.  I was a little nervous asking to take photos but I figure I should try and get past this if I want to take my photography further.  The lady was more than happy which meant I was too and the nerves disappeared.

Do you struggle to push past fears? Do you have techniques you use to help you overcome them?

Friday, August 30

I'm sorry I haven't been in this space much lately.  There are a few reasons why, there is a lot on my mind at the moment mainly my Dad who is still unwell.  I also feel like although I stop by here I don't stop by your spaces often enough. I appreciate how important your time is and so I really cherish all of you stopping by and your beautiful comments that you always leave for me.  I almost feel it isn't fair to not come by and say hi to you as often as you do me and so because of that I have stepped back a little from this space until I can be a good blogger to you as you are to me.  I hope that makes sense.  I've still been taking photos, not lots but it still comes out with me so I thought I'd share a few photos of what has been happening here in my life over the past few weeks.
• Family photos organised and taken by me.
• A free photography workshop learning lots about animal and macro photography.
• Date day with my hubby, enjoying a walk through the bush together just the two of us, so nice.
• Afternoon view from my mother in laws new home.
• My little Miss Birthday all dressed up for book week.
• Some baking this week, chocolate date cake.

I will be back again on Sunday with my 52 Portrait photos.  It's going to be a busy weekend here with Father's Day on Sunday as well as my big girl's birthday to celebrate, so there will be lots of happy times I'm looking forward to it very much.  Until then have a wonderful weekend my friends I hope the weather is sun shiny and happy.

Tuesday, April 30

A few days ago this little blog of mine clocked over six figures, I have to say I was just a little bit excited. It has been 4 years and 772 posts later since I first started this little blogging adventure.  My girls have grown lots and I have too, learning so much about myself and learning so much from others.  Recently one of my favourite blogs asked her readers to leave in the comments any questions they may have, things they are curious about whether it's photography like what camera I use,  a crochet question, my organic choices, what products I like to use.... I was thinking that perhaps there might be a question you'd like to ask and haven't wanted to or if not just say hi (if you want to of course) I always enjoy it when you visit. And thank you for everyone who has taken the time to say hello and visit me here it wouldn't be as fun if it weren't for you. Here is just a few trivial things about me.

* I have never travelled overseas when I do get the chance to I would love to visit the UK and Canada.
* I first learnt to swim in primary school and was a good freestyle swimmer.  I was invited to join the swim club and saw all of the work and decided it wasn't for me, I am not the most sporty of people you could say.
* When I finished high school I started my further education at Tafe doing business for a year, then onto Uni to study education (which I did not complete at the time), then back to Tafe to study a diploma of child care then back to uni to start and finish my education degree.
* My drink of choice would have to be tea.  I have a ritual each day with morning tea to sit and have a cup of white tea which is said to have more antioxidants than green tea and the flavour for me is much nicer:)
* My Mum is a hairdresser and so is her best friend, my adopted auntie, so when I grew up I enjoyed being able to get things done like getting my hair dyed red and yes I had a perm or two or three.... I loved the 80's.
* One of my most treasured possessions is an old embroidery basket given to me by my Grandmother.  Inside the basket are pieces of fabric with daisies and leaves drawn on them for me to practice on as well as a collection of embroidery thread she wound onto spools of cardboard.
* My favourite day of the week would have to be Friday.  The anticipation of the weekend always gets me through the last day of the working week.
* If I could live anywhere I think for me it would have to be somewhere quiet, close to the sea but with land around me, I think in my limited travels it would be Tasmania.
* I love wearing perfume. I once used to keep it just for special occasions but now I put a little on each day and my perfume of choice is Samsara. I first smelt it way back when and it's the only one I use and own, such a creature of habit I am.
* I like to check my star signs in the newspaper, always hoping there is some fabulous news there for me.
* If I could choose a book to read it would have to be a book about photography or a self help book, I'm always wanting to learn more and work on my self development. It's also much easier to read a book here and there then to go back to uni, not sure I'm up for more assignments and deadlines.

Colours in my day

Green, a pencil case for my god daughter.

Brown and orange, baby bunting a special order and marmalade.
A rainbow, biscuits made by the big girl and her friend.
White, helping Dad with the painting outside.
Yellow, a bright cheery end to the day from my friend who opened her florist shop today.

I hope you your day was full of colour and laughter

Saturday, November 6

Sorry it's been a while since I've been in this space and stopped by to visit all of you lovely ladies. I have been trying to find a balance between the everyday happenings and my thoughts of Christmas and school. I really like to plan things a lot and sometimes it can get all a bit too much especially when I over think so I'm just trying to get a little bit done at a time so things don't get too overwhelming. So I've been writing lots of lists and trying not to procrastinate;)

This week my Miss 11 headed to camp and came home very tired.

Our new kitchen cupboards were installed but they're still empty at the moment because we're not sure what to put in them yet.

Some one on one time with Miss 6 cooking chocolate self saucing pudding.

A lovely surprise parcel in the mail from Lauren at Owlet, a pay it forward gift which brightened my day.

A walk in the park with my favourite man just enjoying a beautiful spring day.

I'd love to hear about your week, I hope it was a happy one. Enjoy your Sunday:)

Monday, November 1

I missed the last day of blogtoberfest yesterday:( My hubby needed the computer to finish his assignment and I'm happy to say that the assignment has been finished and there's no more uni now till next year yeah! The girls and I had a great time catching up with friends at our local park for a bit of lunch, a play and walk around to see the animals,we kept busy!

Today the house was buzzing with some cooking for the school lunches this week, and there was a whole lot of banging too with some new cupboards going in Miss 11's room and tomorrow I'm getting a couple of kitchen cupboards too which I'm excited about. I made a cake today called a Breakfast Cake which is tasty on it's own with lots of fruit or it can be sliced and toasted with a bit of butter on it too.

Ingredients

1 cup processed bran cereal

435ml skim milk

1 cup sultanas

1 cup dried cranberries

1/2 cup dates chopped
1 1/2 cups wholemeal self raising flour

1/2 brown sugar

2 tablespoons wheat germ

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celsius. Grease and line a standard loaf tin.
Mix together the bran, milk, sultanas, cranberries and dates. Set aside to soak for at least 45 minutes.
Sift the flour into a bowl and add the husks. Add the soaked bran mixture, sugar and wheat germ. Combine well.

Spoon mix into the prepared tin and bake for 45-50 minutes or until cooked through. Turn out and cool on a wire rack.

Have a great Tuesday:)
