225-237/365 I think I have caught up??

I am sure that by now anyone that still stops by to catch up on my photos probably doesn't want to, or needs to hear my usual reason for not posting regularly.  My habit of being on the computer each evening has changed and I tend to try and wind down by reading.  I do really like how Foxs Lane posts regularly each week so I am going to give that a go.  I feel like that is probably a better fit for where I am with my routine of life at the moment.  So here is a snapshot of the last couple of weeks around here.  Chat with you again soon in a week, fingers crossed.  May you have a wonderful week.

217-224/365 The week that was

I had all the thoughts about continuing my Well being series but I didn't quite get there.  I actually had a few that I wanted to share with you including the first two photos I took. Firstly my bed and a big bowl of delicious strawberries.  I think that they are both pretty self explanatory but I think they are a big factor in maintaining over all well being.  Sleep is something that I am constantly working on and I don't seem to be very disciplined with.  I really should be getting to sleep much earlier than the 11 pm that I do.  I don't know why I don't get to bed earlier, is it the rebellious me that sees it as a great chance to have some more me time, probably and it's also a bit of a bad habit.  The other big key to well being is also an abundance of fresh food.  Food that is as close to nature that means organic and try to eat a rainbow each day.  You will feel better for it and your body will love you for giving it life force.  The rest of the photos are how my days have looked over the past week.  I hope that you enjoy them and that you have all been keeping well.  Thank you all for stopping by and for those who take the time to comment.  I have been trying to reply to each comment so if you have any questions I am happy to answer them there if you like.

211/365 Hydration

As part of my morning routine, I kick start the day with a glass of lemon water.  I just squeeze half a lemon into some warm water and enjoy.  It is important to either drink this with a straw (metal, glass or paper) or swish some water in your mouth so as not to damage your teeth enamel.  A few of the benefits of lemon water first thing in the morning are:
* aides digestion and get the bowel moving
* supports the immune system
* repairs the skin
* balances ph levels
* promotes healing
* detoxifies the liver
Lemon water is a great way to start the day but it is also important to hydrate throughout the day.  And adult body compromises of 60% water so drinking sufficient amounts ensures our body functions efficiently. Delivering oxygen to the body, lubricating joints, regulating body temperature, and preventing headaches are just a few of the health benefits of water.  If you don't like the taste of water on it's own flavour it with pieces of fruit like blueberries, orange and even cucumber.  You can also try herbal teas which provide all kinds of health benefits too and there are many different flavours to choose from. If you choose herbal teas, look at the ingredients list, I do notice that they often contain sugar which you probably would prefer to avoid if you are doing a good thing like drinking herbal tea. Do you drink enough water?

25/365 My Dad

Today marked the 4 year anniversary of my Dad's passing.  It's hard to know how to think about such a day.  It is a day that brings much sadness, wishes that he was still here to be a part of our lives.  It is also a day to remember what a great life he had and how grateful I was to call him my Dad.  I think as time passes I learn to accept a little more that life throws things in your path that you never expected but to take each day and be grateful for what it holds.

My New Goals for 2017

Sorry it took me a couple of day to return to this space.  After watching a documentary the other day I was challenged by my daughter to give up instagram and my computer for the day, so I took up her challenge and coped well although I did use my phone to go on the internet... I would like to make a habit of this each week and next time not use the internet at all.  I wonder how I will go..

After some thought I have come up with my word for the year Nurture.  I was outside in the garden walking around and looking at my plants when the word came to me.  It seemed apt after a recent conversation I had with my husband one afternoon.  This year I will:

Nurture my relationship with my husband, my daughters, my family and friends.  I will take time to go out on regular dates again with my husband, have some one on one time with my girls and organise to have more catch ups with my friends both in person and chats on the phone. We will go on a holiday as a family to New Zealand together to see the snow.

Nurture my mind through creating a daily meditation practice, reading and enrolling in a photography course through ClicknMoms and also a course in soap making at Green Living Australia.

Nurture my body through nourishing foods, exercising at the gym 2-3 times per week and yoga weekly.  I will get one massage for myself and take time to go for bush walk on the weekend.

Nurture myself creatively by making one item for myself, making cards and gifts for my family and friends.  I will continue to pursue my passion for photography by taking photos daily and take photos for a family.  To push myself through the fear I feel when I go to make something or do something out of my comfort zone.

Nurture my home through decluttering each room and donating items to charity.  I will nurture my garden by planting  summer seedlings and tending to it for an hour each week.

Well I have to say that feels refreshing.  A new year, a new start, a new zest for getting back into life. I'm ready! How are you feeling about the New Year?  Have you set yourself some goals?  I'd love to hear.  Happy New Year my friends.

Hello, hello, hello

How are you?  Long time no blogging.  I am so sorry to have been absent from this space for such a long period of time.  In the 6 years (I think) that I have been blogging I'm not sure I have ever left it so long in between blog posts.
Life has dealt some tricky times since my Nan passed away. There has been lots to deal with.  Sadly things don't always go as smoothly as you hope when someone passes away but I am trying to remember that what happens will be as it is meant to.  It is a little hard to deal with especially when my Nan's wishes may not be fulfilled as she wished, though time will tell.
Lots of great things have happened too.  There has been birthdays and a little anniversary for hubby and I, which we celebrated today on our date; being reunited with my Grandfather which has been a blessing; going to the gym and yoga; crafting; catching up with friends for smoothies and time with my gorgeous family.  My poor camera has been a little neglected sadly, my passion though has ignited today after a visit to the gardens, it was just the medicine I needed.  I am hoping that might mean I will be back to visit this space again soon, fingers crossed.
I hope all is well with you, that this year has been treating you nicely and that you have had some beautiful sunshine to enjoy this weekend.
Thank you for coming by to visit.
Much love.

Monday, January 25

Hello there.... how did so much time go by again between posts, I am sorry.  Life has been pretty good I really shouldn't complain too much although it's good to get things out too. We have done a bit of exploring over the holidays but not too much really, I must book a holiday for next school holidays I think.
Tomorrow will be the last day of the holidays for the girls then back to school for them.  It's going to be a busy year for us with my girl entering her final year of high school and my youngest beginning her high school journey.  There will be lots of things happening to keep us busy, making decisions about what to do after school, a drivers licience to get wow it's hard to believe that my baby is growing up so much.  So lately this has been on my mind, my Nan is also unwell which is not good.  She is in good spirits and is being lovingly cared for by my Mum which I think is making such a difference.... Ahh life is a journey isn't it full of ups and downs and it's all about trying not to fight them but roll with them. Well sorry for the heavy photo post I hope that you enjoy them.
I hope your January has been a happy one.
