Include Israel in your Seder
This year, as we join at the seder table and recite the words of the Haggadah, please add a word for Israel. This Haggadah insert may be helpful.
There will be elections for the World Zionist Organization (WZO) in Canada this spring. All Canadian Jews can vote!
The past year and a half have been hard for Israel. Even more so for Israel’s Reform movement, which faces unprecedented discrimination. You can help our Israeli family by voting in the election.
Voting for ARZA Canada in the WZO election will help to:
- Protect Israel’s democracy
- Direct more funds and decision-making for the Reform movement
- Support equality for Reform Jews
- Support equality for minorities
- Take steps in the pursuit of both peace and security
So please – plan to vote in the WZO election, and raise the topic with family and friends at the Seder table. To help start this discussion, you can download our Haggadah insert and make copies for your guests.
A few details on the election:
- Pre-registration will start Apr. 30
- Voting will be June 5 to 15
- All Canadian Jews are eligible to vote
- There will be a small administrative fee of $2 to register
- Registration and voting is online only. We’ll send you the QR code.
We wish you and your family a Chag Sameach!

As you know, ARZA Canada represents Canadian Reform Zionists with members in all of Canada’s Reform congregations. Though independent of the sister organization, ARZA, in the United States, it is an affiliate of the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) and Reform Jewish Community of Canada (RJCC). We are writing to address how ARZA Canada maintains its membership records, and in particular its commitment to the privacy of our members.
Accurate membership records are important to the entire Reform Jewish Community of Canada given that the size of our membership determines our influence on Zionist policies in Canada and in Israel. ARZA Canada members come through congregational solicitation and activism, and so annually it is provided lists of its members from Canadian Reform congregations such as yours in order to confirm individual memberships. This is deeply appreciated.
ARZA Canada has strong privacy practices to ensure the confidentiality of this membership information. It is used by ARZA Canada to communicate with our members and engage them in the activities of ARZA Canada, including joint programs with RJCC and our congregations.
