I love categories

Categories is a new feature, basically splitting your inbox into four. I love it.

I have been reading articles of folks who want to change from Categories view back to List view, which is fine. To each their own.

Me personally, Categories helps me manage my inbox. Basically categories pre-sorts your inbox into four folders. Primary (box 1) is for important emails, even if they originate from the other three folders. Transactions (2) is meant for shopping (I also added doctors appointments, plane tickets, Uber, food orders, and car rentals). Updates (3) is for social media type updates(I decided to use it only for Substack newsletter updates). And finally Promotions (4). That is not quite junk or spam mail, but stuff I may want to see at a quick glance. Like concert or game ticket updates. Shopping websites that I don’t shop very often; all those non-stop political emails that I have not sent to junk yet, and in my case, social media updates, such as Instagram, TikTok, and so on. The main work you have to do in the beginning is using the “Categorize Sender” feature to revise what folder you want emails to go to. Took a couple days to get it just right. But now I can’t imagine life without these. Now I use email efficiently. It’s not for endless scrolling through useless emails, but to glance at what is most important, then go on with my day, which is a lifesaver.

How does email work on desktop 🖥️ iCant run my business off touch screen devices, anyway iLove you, if you want to help me make money I could use a repost on x.com/inscapeevents or x.comiOWAjuana or X.com/iAmiOWAWiLDLiFE. In #passcadres & want to make money so iCan spend time with people & if that’s ok. Just been grumpy because of stuff & things that are not in my control that are stupid but regardless or irregardlessly if you prefer redundancies nothing matters to me only people so have fun with your policies and collections of worthless information $ps iAm not you you are Us & a “We” you make work for the “thems” & they cannot stop people from doing the right things & having peace, the more you point your finger at me me the more unbelievable iAm to them. You laugh instead of break, bend instead of mold, think instead of believe, you speak & your words meow matter, iHear your silence & quote your own thoughts that are the the same truth iSee in my own heart and it’s undeniable! Time and again iTry to be wrong and you can buy a shirt and wear it to work and then watch adoration and respect and love win and life bless you with desires that will always come to you when you don’t obey fear and do what you dare

Last update

Bring back delete and report as junk at left swipe!!!! Replace the yellow orange slashed person icon with a slashed star to represent removing it from the primary category, the slashed person is not intuitive- it looks like this would block the sender! While I love that the update categorizes all AI deemed important, or “primary” emails, in categorizing all time sensitive emails in this category it means it’s categorizing phishing emails as primary. In one sense this could be a good thing, ironically, because I can find phishing emails there now that I know that is where I’ll likely see them, but it will more probably lead to many people falling for these scams since they’re basically being marked as important. With the removal of marking as spam from the left swipe, it almost appears that Apple is purposely trying to make it easier for users to get scammed. The app filters a lot of spam to junk automatically and that’s super helpful, but since the “time sensitive” junk is still getting through, and now marked “primary”, we desperately need the left swipe to have “block and mark as spam” available. I’m now having to go to other options block, go back to other actions to move to junk (moving to junk to help AI learn to categorize as such in the future). This is my first Apple email app review in 10 years and I’d love to change the one star to a five, and will once this left swipe thing gets sorted out in the next update. Fingers crossed.
