BAALBEK, Lebanon: Amer Khodr, a farmer from the town of Qabb Elias in the central Bekaa, heads out to his field on the Maksah plain to plant corn, without having much hope of seeing a profit this year.

A statement issued by the Army said that after a pharmacy in Khaldeh was robbed on March 2, an investigation by Army intelligence personnel led to the arrests in Qabb Elias, Zahle of four Lebanese and a man whose nationality is being investigated by the government.
