Coverage
The 14th annual JJA 2010 Jazz Awards were celebrated at City Winery, New York City, on Monday,
June 14. Doors opened at 3:30 for the Awards presentation, honoring nominees
and winners in more than 40 categories of excellence in jazz, jazz
presenting and jazz documentation. Beer from Brother
Thelonious Belgian Ale, wine from City Winery's own reserve, buffet
reception and musical performances by Bobby Sanabria Big Band (thanks to Jazzheads Records), Tia Fuller Quartet
(thanks to Mack Avenue Records),
pianist Marc Cary's Focus Trio (sponsored by Motema Music), guitarist Rale Micic's trio (CTA Records), and Ayako Shirasaki (thanks
