Chris Klein is to make a guest appearance in a forthcoming episode of Fox comedy-drama The Good Guys.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the actor will play George, the former partner of Jack Bailey (Colin Hanks) in an episode shooting next week.
The character is described as an ambitious cop who "has been using his charm and connections to climb the ranks of the Dallas Police Department".
The guest role will mark Klein's return to acting following a spell in rehab and a 96-hour jail sentence earlier this year.
The star is known for his role in the first two American Pie films and also appeared in short-lived CBS sitcom Welcome to The Captain.
The Good Guys continues on Fridays at 9/8c on Fox.
