Siang Lu has won one of Australia's most prestigious book prizes, the Miles Franklin Literary Award.

Lu won the $60,000 book prize for his part-fable, part-rom-com novel Ghost Cities.

The Chinese Malaysian Australian author says he's "overwhelmed" by his win.

Heavy metal pioneer Ozzy Osbourne has died aged 76.
