Blues bag 2.25m Horsfield
![]() Horsfield transfer fee broke the club record
Birmingham City have signed Fulham striker Geoff Horsfield for a club record fee of 2.25m.
The 26-year-old from Halifax has signed a five-year deal with Trevor Francis' side after a successful period with the Cottagers. Horsfield scored 32 goals in 74 appearances for Fulham and joins free transfer Nicky Eaden as the Blues second signing of the week. "Geoff has been given the opportunity to move back north and we wish him all the best," said a Fulham spokesman. Horsfield's departure from Craven Cottage may have been sparked by the arrival of former Newcastle United striker Louis Saha from French first division club Metz.
