Best TV Hero

Though he was destined to die (thanks a lot, history!), Liam J. McIntyre's Spartacus still managed to strike severe, gory blows in the name of freedom. And thanks to the magnificently-crafted final season, War of the Damned, the Thracian champion fought until the bitter end - with the ghosts of those who'd fallen giving him courage to go head-to-head with the army of Marcus Crassus.

Spartacus fended off enemy forces, the brutal cold of winter, and treacherous in-fighting among his own ranks. It all led to an epically satisfying series finale that beautifully and tragically paid off in ways that TV shows rarely are able to. The historical mystery surrounding Spartacus' actual death kept us on the edge of our seats as he fought Crassus and his men, red in tooth and claw. Would he fall in battle? It got intense. In the end, Spartacus was no more, but our hero found great peace dying as a free man.
