Women’s Month reminds us how far the mining industry has come. Once prohibited from working underground, women now excel across all our disciplines – from mining, engineering and geology to metallurgy, safety, health, legal and finance. The numbers speak volumes! To every woman across our business: thank you for the skill, passion, resilience and leadership you bring to our workplaces, to our families and our communities every day. Today, we celebrate YOU!

Members of the Thungela social, ethics and transformation board committee recently visited Sikhululiwe Village near Mafube to see first-hand the outcome of a resettlement journey spanning more than two decades. The visit provided an opportunity to learn more about the village, which was first established in 2004 and handed over to the municipality three years later. Today, it is home to a large community, including families who were resettled. The process involved far more than building new houses. As the village grew, Mafube invested in the infrastructure and facilities needed to support residents and create a place people could truly call home. Here's a look at some of the stops on the committee's tour. #Thungela #Sustainability #ESG #CommunityPartnerships #StakeholderEngagement #SocialImpact #5YearsOfValue
