  • Every connection, signal, map, and forecast increasingly depends on infrastructure most of us never see: satellites. Orbiting miles above us, they have become one of the fastest-growing layers of the infrastructure network we rely on every day. The numbers show just how quickly the satellite era is scaling. 👉 There are now more than 16,000 active satellites in Earth orbit. 👉 Last year, a record 4,434 satellites were deployed – a 65% increase over 2024, according to the Satellite Industry Association. 👉 This year, at least 2,780 satellites launched in 2026 are already active and in orbit. 👉 The satellite sector is also a major force in the wider space economy, with the commercial satellite industry accounting for 71% of global space business. 👉 At the same time, the global satellite IoT market is projected to grow from US$2.32 billion in 2026 to US$6.51 billion by 2034, according to Fortune Business Insights. As satellite networks expand, the opportunity is not just more coverage, but smarter, more resilient connectivity for businesses operating beyond the reach of traditional infrastructure. As an authorised Starlink reseller, iONLINE helps businesses connect in more places, build resilience into their operations, and unlock the next layer of IoT connectivity – wherever their assets, teams or customers need to be. #SatelliteConnectivity #IoTConnectivity #EnterpriseConnectivity

  • For teams protecting people, property, vehicles, and high-value assets, operational visibility is everything. But too often, that visibility is only as strong as a single cellular network. That was the exact challenge facing a security provider operating across multiple locations when they reached out to us. Their teams could no longer afford the blind spots caused by patchy coverage, carrier outages, or devices dropping offline unexpectedly. We helped them build a more resilient, secure connectivity foundation. ➡️ Instead of leaving field devices tied to a single network path, we deployed multi-carrier SIMs that switch automatically between major networks, eliminating dead zones across both mobile patrol units and fixed sites. ➡️ To protect sensitive telemetry from public threats, we routed all traffic through a private APN with encrypted VPN tunnels and private static IPs, keeping data completely off the open internet. ➡️ For field-level hardware security, we locked each SIM to its designated device IMEI, ensuring that if equipment is ever tampered with or stolen, the connection cannot be abused. ➡️ Through our connectivity management platform, CentralFlex, their teams gained complete visibility, allowing them to segment device fleets, track usage in real time, and manage operations at scale without manual overhead. The result? Total operational certainty. With persistent connectivity and centralised control, their patrol units, alarm panels, cameras, and response teams stay continuously reachable when seconds count. If your surveillance, monitoring, or response systems are only as reliable as one network, it may be time to rethink the foundation behind them. • Many businesses assume a SIM is a SIM. But it's not – and picking the wrong one is often why they end up overpaying for connectivity. We offer 4 SIM formats, each built for a different job: one country vs. many; screens vs. sensors; one device vs. a fleet of thousands. Swipe through to see which one best fits your setup. • The future of IoT connectivity is hybrid connectivity – the ability to stay connected across changing conditions. It’s the new resilience layer for IoT, giving devices more than one way to stay visible. The scale of this challenge is growing. Connected IoT devices reached 21.1 billion globally in 2025, and as connected operations scale, devices are moving across regions, remote sites, infrastructure gaps, and changing coverage conditions. Businesses can no longer rely on a single network path. That’s why hybrid connectivity – combining cellular, eSIM remote management, multi-network access, and satellite – is becoming a major IoT trend. Satellite IoT is forecast to grow at a 24.1% CAGR through 2035, showing how businesses are looking beyond terrestrial-only networks for resilience. At the same time, eSIM for IoT is moving from specification to deployment, with 40% of operators already trialing or launching the standard, according to the GSMA. Together, these shifts point to a more flexible connectivity model: one where devices can adapt across networks, locations, and conditions. Fewer coverage gaps. Fewer blind spots. More confidence scaling connected operations where they need to go. If your IoT devices are moving across regions, remote sites, or unreliable coverage areas, it may be time to rethink whether one network path is enough. #IoTConnectivity #GlobalConnectivity #EnterpriseConnectivity #HybridConnectivity

  • When your IoT scales you aren’t just adding devices – you’re adding complexity: more sites, more vendors, more dashboards, more handoffs, and more ways for issues to be missed. That’s where Sense Hub comes in. Sense Hub helps teams bring fragmented IoT data into one unified view, so they can move from disconnected signals to clearer, faster action across sites. ➡️ What breaks when data is fragmented 🔸 Signals live in silos, so faults are spotted late – or not at all. 🔸 Alerts arrive without context, so teams lose time chasing “false fires”. 🔸 Every new site adds another workflow, which means scale becomes fragile. ➡️ What changes with Sense Hub When sensor data flows into one place, teams can act on exceptions. This means they can: ✔️ Detect issues earlier: small anomalies get caught before they become downtime, loss, or compliance failures. ✔️ Respond faster: alerts are tied to assets, locations, and history – so fixes don’t start from scratch. ✔️ Scale with confidence: add devices, sites, and stakeholders without rebuilding your stack each time. Scaling IoT isn’t about amassing data. It’s about turning the right signals into action – consistently, across every site. Ready to move from fragmented IoT to scalable operations? • Imagine you’ve just launched a global fleet of smart sensors. Now imagine managing SIM swaps as those devices cross borders, move between networks, or operate in hard-to-reach locations. For growing IoT deployments, that complexity becomes difficult to scale. The real challenge begins when devices move into new regions, lose coverage, or need a new carrier profile while already deployed in the field. eSIM for IoT, the next evolution of our intelligent FlexiSIM solution, gives enterprises a simpler way to manage connectivity across distributed fleets. With eSIM for IoT, enterprises can: ✅ Reduce reliance on physical SIM logistics ✅ Provision and manage connectivity remotely ✅ Switch profiles intelligently when networks struggle ✅ Deploy and manage fleets globally from one platform Instead of replacing SIM cards in the field, teams can update carrier profiles remotely, activate new devices, and adapt connectivity as deployment needs change. Whether you’re tracking cargo across continents, monitoring crops remotely, managing fleet telematics, or operating smart city infrastructure, eSIM for IoT helps keep distributed devices connected and manageable. It also helps reduce logistics and operating costs, while giving teams more control over connectivity at scale. • On 9 August, South Africa celebrates National Women’s Day, a day rooted in courage, unity, and the power of women to shape history. It commemorates the 1956 Women’s March, when more than 20,000 women marched to the Union Buildings in Pretoria to stand against injustice. Today, that legacy continues through Women’s Month: a time to celebrate the women moving our world forward. In STEM, that mission is urgent. Women and girls make up nearly half the global population (around 4.13 billion), yet remain significantly underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. UNESCO figures worth reflecting on: 🚺 Women account for 35% of STEM graduates worldwide 🚺 Women hold less than 25% of science, engineering, and ICT jobs globally 🚺 Women represent only 1 in 10 STEM-related leadership positions At iONLINE, we’re proud that 44% of our team are women. We asked some of these women to share their perspectives on empowerment at work, misconceptions about women in tech, and how they navigate challenges like imposter syndrome. Their insight reminds us that representation matters. This Women’s Day, we celebrate the women shaping our future. #IoT #WomensDay #WomenInTech #IoTConnectivity
