Next fest discussion
Mar. 18th, 2010 01:18 amIt's always been my intention that YKTR would have several fests throughout the year and that it would be in multiple formats (not always a one-to-one fic exchange), so that all sorts of fans could participate to their comfort level. To that end, I'd like some input before deciding what form the next fest will take. :)
Here are some of the possibilities I've thought of so far. How could they be improved? What others have I've missed that you think might work?
Freeform prompts: anyone can suggest prompts, anyone can write/make a vid/do artwork for as many prompts as they want, multiple people can claim the same prompt
Structured prompts: anyone can suggest prompts, only one person can claim each prompt (no duplication of claimed prompts)
Art and/or fanmix exchange
Themed exchanges (by season or episode, for example): everyone has to write a story/make a vid/do artwork for prompts about a certain episode or season.
A big bang: stories of x number of words or larger with accompanying artwork and/or fanmixes (actual word count to be determined later)
And finally, an idea that isn't a fest so much as a group project: I'm thinking it would be cool if we did a wiki that's a sort of Psych canon bible. Everyone claims an ep, fills out basic info about that episode on a wiki site I set up, and then that basic page can be built upon by other fans. I've yet to see a good implementation of this sort of obsessive-compulsive fan site for Psych, and I think it'd make a great resource for everybody. *vbg*
