About the Role:

As a Chief of Staff, you are in lock step with the General Manager (GM) and the leadership team and serve as their extension and trusted partner. You have a proven track record of getting things done across organizational and functional lines. You are able to lead projects which require disentangling cross-team dependencies to build consensus and quickly deliver outcomes that are consistent with leadership’s operating principles and business objectives. You are a dispassionate accelerator and advisor, guiding recommendations and offering advice in the best long-term interest of the business, using data and industry context and a deep understanding of the organizational dynamics to guide decision-making.

This role will be based in Mountain View, California with occasional global travel.

How you will make 10X impact:

    • Help formulate and operationalize Taara’s goals and objectives
    • Anticipate, articulate and pre-solve problems before they arise
    • Advise on issues that require diplomacy and situational sensitivity
    • Keep various work streams on track towards short and long-term objectives
    • Help determine priorities; assist with hand-off, delegation or prioritization of tasks
  • Drive alignment across the organization to help the team meet or even accelerate business, operational and cultural objectives
    • Use cross-functional knowledge to understand issues, trends and perspectives that may influence the business.
    • Proactively identify problems and issues across the organization and create programs and/or processes to solve them.
    • Optimize communications linking the leadership team and the broader organization
    • Integrate and connect work streams that would otherwise remain siloed
    • Ensure information flows effectively for decision making and decisions are well-documented and cascaded appropriately
  • Oversee the team’s Administrative Business Partner (ABP), including ensuring ABP understands Taara leadership team’s priorities, and stepping in when needed to ensure coverage is seamless
  • Oversea other functional G&A areas as well, many of which will be outsourced (Legal, HR, Finance)

What you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role or in Management Consulting, Strategy, Operations or Program Management
  • Proven ability to influence without authority and build strong partnerships independently, working with technical and cross-functional teams who do not report into this role to creatively solve complex problems.
  • Strong project / program management skills and ability to keep multiple priorities moving at the same time.
  • Self-starter with a team-oriented work style and ability to inspire trust by demonstrating sound judgment and integrity.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills at all levels of an organization, including executive audiences
  • Ability to deal with a high degree of ambiguity and drive clarity

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
