FOSS, then compact coding, lot of contributors through libraries, needs for web-crawling and scraping, like Google web engine, so easy to get BigData, requirement for ML.

Python is open source language and has more flexibility than R (another open source tool) in terms of in built statistical and machine learning package support.. Also it provides higher speed and seemless integration with other systems for integration

Anyone can learn python doesn't require any programming knowledge (or) experience. Python is much easier as compared to other programming languages. Python is easy to learn. The learning curve is very gradual.
