Hello,

I’m Tom. I co-founded VividEngine, the company behind MediaFire and Fastio. I’ve spent much of my life making things on the internet.

Some grew into companies. Some are small tools I wanted to exist. There’s a thread through all of them: make something complicated a little easier for someone else.

A few chapters along the way:

Studied neuroscience at UC Davis, then found my way into software.
Built IntoMobile before the iPhone arrived.
Helped bootstrap MediaFire to over 100 million monthly users.
Started building again with Fast.io.
Made a home in Austin with my wife and our two kids.

04 / THE PERSON, TOO

Hi. I’m Tom.

I grew up between Ithaca, Edmonton, and Loma Linda. I studied neuroscience at UC Davis, built internet companies, and eventually made a home in Austin, Texas.

I’m a husband and a dad of two. There are company milestones in my story, but there are also walks, family photos, and ordinary days. I want this site to have room for those, too.
