Dedicated to helping people become their BEST selves, starting with all children, so they can win the biggest game -- LIFE!

WHO WE ARE

WhoWeAre

The Santoro Education Lifeskills Foundation (SELF) is an active 501(c)3 private foundation.  Most private foundations send money to other nonprofits.  At SELF, we do that too, but we also have programs that support our mission of "helping people become their best selves".

WHAT WE DO

Through our tuition assistance program, we invest by providing a HAND UP to working families who make too much to receive government assistance with preschool tuition at quality preschool centers for their 0-5-year-olds, but struggle to do so.  More information about this program can be found HERE.

WhatWeDo

Additionally, we provide grants to school districts that wish to incorporate essential personal life skills curriculum and programming for students in grades K-12.  More information about this program can be found HERE.

PROGRAMS

We help to educate people through our programs, including:

Our Alive2Thrive essential personal life skills curriculum (click HERE), which is a free video-based resource consisting of 36 short 2-3 minute videos and lesson sheets that can be used to learn basic essential personal life skills by anyone from 12 to 92.

With JOE'S WORDS OF WISDOM (click HERE), as well as our 750 short motivational SAYINGS about many different categories of life and relationships, we educate and inspire others to be their best selves.

Our free THANK YOU CARDS (click HERE) are also a great way to help people look for the positive and connect with others while expressing appreciation for something good, such as a good attitude, work ethic, or kindness.

Our TIPS FOR COPING WITH HARD TIMES (click HERE) were created along with the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Foundation and the University of South Florida, and contain almost one hundred helpful pointers to help navigate difficult days.

WE ADVOCATE

WeAdvocate

We advocate for the government to cut wasteful spending, and invest in programs that we currently invest in ourselves, specifically: quality preschool for every child from birth to age 5, until kindergarten, which is administered by each state, run by the private sector, and measured, monitored, and rated by outside third parties to ensure excellence; and essential personal life skills curriculum and programming for students in all schools from K-12th grades.  Read more about our advocacy HERE.

WHY IT MATTERS

Children who learn essential personal life skills early are more likely to:

  • Build strong relationships
  • Make responsible choices
  • Succeed in school and work
  • Have healthier lives and relationships
  • Strengthen their families and communities
WhyItMatters

When children learn essential personal life skills early, starting in quality preschool and extending into grades K-12, everyone benefits.

If America were to implement both of these for all Americans, we would build a better nation!

Santoro Education Lifeskills Foundation (SELF)

If learning academic subjects is like the car that drives you, then essential personal life skills are like the steering wheel that guides you.   You can’t drive a car without a steering wheel, right?

SELF is dedicated to helping everyone learn important lessons about health, self-character, and relationships with others as early in life as possible. We believe that through learning essential personal life skills as early as preschool and continuing from grades K-12, people will have foundational life skills to help in ALL areas of life.
