BACKGROUND
This project studies the usage of
single-use plastics in households
across India. The aim is to analyze
the scale of plastic consumption,
identify the key sources of plastic
waste, and propose potential
solutions to reduce single-use
plastic usage at the household
level. The study involves data
collection and surveys around
practices surrounding single-use
plastic in Indian households.
Single-use plastics have become a
significant environmental concern
as they contribute to pollution,
litter, and threats to ecosystems.
India, with its rapidly growing
population, faces a massive
challenge in managing plastic
waste. This report tells us the

OBJECTIVES:-
1)To study the types and quantities of single-use
plastics commonly used in Indian households.
2) Investigate the awareness levels regarding the
environmental impact of single-use plastics.
3) Identify the main factors influencing the choice
and continued usage of single-use plastics.
4) Suggest sustainable alternatives to single-use
plastics for household usage.
5) Propose awareness campaigns
6)To suggest policy recommendations to promote
plastic waste reduction in homes.
