5. Your mother wants to buy new laptop for studying ICS, but she doesn’t know the
characteristics of computers which are suitable for you.
(a) Help your mother by explaining them (3 points).
(b) Mention two types of software that must be installed before the computer to be
used (2 marks).
(c) Among the two types of software, say which one will be installed first, and what
will happen to the computer if it is not installed first. (4 marks).

6. Suppose you communicate with your uncle, who is too far outside the country.

(b) When you communicate, once you experience that the network is not available.
Mention three things that you think could be a reason. (3 marks).
(c) Explain two advantages that made you choose the proposed network (4 marks).

7. Your fellow student from X-school told you that they feel ashamed to go in front of
another student to present anything to them.
(a) As a good presenter, explain to him three qualities of good presenters.
(b) In addition to that explain to him using three points on how he/she will be
prepared to make their presentation to fulfil the audience.

(b) Write HTML code which will generate the following registration form.

9. ICS teacher from Mwanakwerekwe Secondary School wants to continue teaching his
students from home during holiday, as computer students advise them on the method
which will be suitable by giving them the advantages and disadvantages of that method
(four points for each)

10. Your mother works as a data storekeeper in an organization and always complains, “the
use of electronic database is just a waste of an organization resources and money”. As
a storekeeper officer model, she believes that electronic databases are preferred over
manual storage. Use any five points.

11. The development of science and technology and the availability of internet services
have led the introduction of virtual organisations or communities in our daily life.
Explain five organizations/communities and the online service they provide.
