1 JOB SAFETY ANALYSIS


1.1 • A JSA must have been completed in the field before work commences
• If the job changes or you are not comfortable to complete STOP and report to your supervisor
immediately
• Most equipment will be operating, be aware of the inherent dangers, i.e. no loose clothing,
wear gloves where appropriate
• When conducting online inspections never remove guards without effective controls in place

2.1 Inspect the pump assembly. Listen for cavitation (rattling/rumbling) noise and friction in rotating parts and
check for abnormal vibrations.
2.2 Check for slurry leakage on the pump casing and the discharge pipe.
2.3 Check the condition of the guards. Secure any loose guards, report damaged or missing guards.
2.4 With the guards in place, visually check the condition of the vee-belts and pulleys for any evidence of
[missing, broken bolts, damage, overheating or slippage] or noise from the v belts.
2.5 Check bearing assembly temperature with the thermal gun. Report to the supervisor if temperature is above
80 Degress Celsius. Record Temperatures
