UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING
The University College of Engineering (UCE) has the distinction of being the oldest and the
biggest among the Engineering Colleges of the erstwhile State of Telangana. Established in the
year 1929, it was the 6th Engineering College to be established in the whole of British India.
The University’s accreditation by NAAC with an A+ grade and Category-I graded autonomy
by UGC are applicable to the College.
The College offers 8 Engineering Undergraduate (UG) programs leading to the award of
Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.). . The College also offers Postgraduate (PG) programs leading
to a Master of Engineering/Technology and Master of Computer Applications. The Doctoral
programs (Ph.D.) are offered in various [Link] UG and PG programs have been
recognized by AICTE, and all eligible programs have been accredited by the NBA Apart from
regular programs, the College offers Part-Time PG programs under the Continuing
Engineering Education Program (CEEP). There is a yearly intake of 420 UG, 488 PG students
(full-time and part-time) students. There are 115 faculty members, including 92 Doctorates.

Engineering and Technology and to serve the society by developing a modern technology in
students’ heightened intellectual, cultural, ethical and humane sensitivities, fostering a scientific
temper and promoting professional and technological expertise.

Chips to Startups (C2S)
The C2S (Chips to Start-up) Programme, sponsored by the Ministry of Electronics and Information
Technology (MeitY), is being implemented at the University College of Engineering (A), Osmania
University (UCEOU). This program aims to train manpower in VLSI and embedded systems design, with
a focus on developing skilled professionals ready for the industry. UCEOU is utilizing EDA tools and
FPGA boards provided by the program to facilitate research and training activities in these areas

Centre for ProductDesign Developement &
Additive Manufacturing (CPDDM) is a Centre
of Excellence established Under RUSA 2.0, MoE,
Government of India is a national initiative to
make India a global hub for additive
manufacturing (3D printing), established by
MeitY, the Government of Telangana, and
Osmania University at TDC Hyderabad.

The Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security at

University focuses on advanced research, training,

tackle emerging cyber threats.
Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence
The University College of Engineering, Osmania
University (UCEOU) hosts a Centre of Excellence
in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning,
established under the RUSA 2.0 initiative. This
centre aims to promote advanced learning, research,
and innovation in AI and ML among students and
faculty. It offers hands-on training, internships,
faculty development programs, and hackathons to
enhance practical skills in emerging technologies

UCEOU, Osmania University, has established a
Centre of Excellence in Satellite Communication
to advance research, development, and training,
featuring the Advanced GNSS Research Lab in
partnership with ISRO’s SAC.
Center of Excellence in Daikin
The Centre of Excellence with Daikin
Industries in the Mechanical Department
trains and certifies air-conditioning service
professionals, developing skilled talent to

Center of Excellence Emagia
In early 2023, Emagia (sometimes referred to
as Imagia) from the USA partnered with
Osmania University to establish a Fintech &
AI Innovation Lab within the UCE campus.
The agreement was formalized with Osmania
Foundation to accelerate innovation in AI,
ML, Blockchain/Web3, along with digital
finance and payments technologies

EFFICYCLE is a national SAE INDIA competition where
students design and build a three-wheeled human-electric hybrid
vehicle.
ETWDC is a national SAE INDIA competition where
students design and build an energy-efficient electric two-
wheeler.
BDC is a national SAE INDIA Southern Section event where
students design and build a single-seat bicycle.

The legacy of OUCE is exemplified by distinguished alumni such as:
Cilarapu Damodar Raja Narasimha, a 1982 Civil Engineering graduate from Osmania
University, is Telangana’s current Health Minister and a former Deputy Chief Minister of
Andhra Pradesh. He has held key roles in education and agriculture.
Shantanu Narayen, CEO of Adobe Inc. since 2007, is an Osmania University ECE
graduate. A global tech leader, he previously served as Adobe’s president and COO,
exemplifying OUCE’s impact on the world stage.
Gopal T.K. Krishna, a 1968 Electrical Engineering graduate from Osmania University, is
a prominent Indian-American businessman and Iowa Republican leader, and founder of
Krishna Engineering Consultants.
Mr. Challa Rajendra Prasad, a 1975 Mechanical Engineering graduate from Osmania
University, is the founder of CCL Products and a pioneer in India's soluble coffee
exports. He has played a key role in shaping the coffee industry through decades of
leadership and service on the Coffee Board of India.
Dr. Ravi Bellamkonda, a 1989 biomedical engineering graduate from Osmania
University, Since 2021, he has served as Provost and Executive Vice President for
Academic Affairs at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Bellamkonda served
president of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) for
the 2014-2016 term
